I phone

Featured Replies

Hi,

Does the iphone/ ipod touch use a different bluetooth system to other mobiles? I have several pictures on a couple of old phones (Nokia, Samsung & Motorola) that I wanted to transfer to my iphone, so rather than trying to download them to my PC and then transfer them to the iphone via itunes, I thought I'd transfer them via bluetooth, the other phones pick up the iphone straight away, but the iphone does'nt see the other phones??? Am I doing something wrong :?

EDIT forgot to say it's a 3gs iphone

You can't send files through bluetooth on an iPhone. its only really for connection for audio. Headsets, handsfree kits, docks etc.

think they only transmit between 2 iphones...

gonna try with my jailbroken one later tho, might be an app?

As heartagram stated the bluetooth is only for pairing up with devices such as hands free kits etc.

It is possible between 2 iPhones so long as both have an app for it.

your only real option is to just download them to the PC which is a damn pain!

I'm pretty sure you can do it with a jailbroken iPhone although I've never looked into it. Other than that I think you'll have to transfer the files via PC.

Can with jailbroken, and then use ifile to view the images, but its just long winded another damn arse reason to hate apple but its there way to stop copyright.

This is one of the many reasons I opted for an Android phone :p

After wading through the pdf instruction manual, it does only mention pairing a bluetooth headset, why are apple so backward in some things, yet quite clever in others??

Now I'll have to find the programs to retrieve the pictures from the old phones, then I presume copy them to a new folder and then via itunes I might be able to load them onto the Iphone :? hardly seems worth the effort for a few pictures, that should of been easily transfered via bluetooth :x

I hate Apple

remember when iPhones couldn't record videos.

I have to say that is the most annoying think about having an iPhone 4.

Not only can't you send files over bluetooth but it takes 3 days to search for devices/phones that other less advanced phones take no time at all to find.

its all money for apple! first iphones didn't have video so you had to buy the new iphone when it came out. have to buy apps for everything and have to buy all the accessories again to be compatible if you upgrade. Apple are such arseholes, but thats probs why they're minted. Love my iphone but i really really hate it. lol

jailbreak ftw
