First - the story....

Before we bought our new 2011 Polo couple of months ago, we used to own Polo 9N from 2004. We buyed it from local VW Dealer and it was "Diamond selection". It is their brand for second hand car which has full service documentary and less than 60 000 kilometers. So We thought that we are going to make a best deal ever!

We had lots of Check engine lights. And I mean Lots of those. Every time after filling up some gasoline that damn engine light made that familiar Ding sound and it refuses to go away by itself. We took the car back for resetting this light more than 15 times before they accepted that they really have to fix it. Mean while they said that we are putting too much gasoline in that car. They said - yes still Volkswagen Center in Finland - that when I hear that gasoline pump stops because gasoline level has reached the pump, I have filled too much already. Wtf!? I didn't accept that and said that this must be found from manual.

Anyway. They changed lots of parts from the car and for me they just said that they cleaned some sensors. What they didn't know that I had friend who sells replacement parts for Volkswagen repair shops and he said that they ordered massive list of parts to my car.

However we decided to keep the car and drove about 140 000 kilometers with it in four years. During those years I had several unpleasent phone calls just after my wife has drove off. Almost once in a month...

"Hi... Ahm... Can I keep driving if EPC light is blinking and car sound like traktor?"

"Uhm... Hi... This car just stalled to the highway and I am now waiting for towtruck... "

"... Uhm. Yeah. I think that this car is broken again."

" Uh... Engine light is burning again.. should I just keep driving? This time the car doesn't sha... oh.. now it shakes. I call tow truck."

After 3 years I finally took the car to repairshop and said that they have to fix everything and they did, but then came new Polo model and we decided to change the car.

... you can change the car, but you cannot forget it... Somehow I got traumatized of those phone calls

Now, even that we have only drove less than 15 000 kilometers with our new Polo, everytime when my wife drives off and the phone rings immediatly after that, my heart speeds up and I am like "Wtf it is now... God Damn!" ... and then she just calls "Btw.. There is new coffee on that thermo if you like. Bye then." ...

.. I dont know why I am writing this... This is just too funny or lame.

I have been watching one 6N1 GTI from my friend, but it has some serious roof trouble... Open Air needs Open Wallet... With that 9N I learned to hate car computers...

6n FTW :) so far nothing had gone wrong I couldn't fix myself (well except wheel bearing, but meh). Anything pre 1997 I find fun to work on, even better if its pre 1990s :)
