Mk2 bready.

Featured Replies

So I've been browsing around on here for a couple of years and thought it was about time I put a build thread up for one of the many polo's I've had over the years.

My last car was a gt, which apart from a few bodywork issues was a great little car, proper good fun for what it was.

This is it in its prime

And the plan was to keep hold for a couple of years and sort out all the little niggles over time.

Buuut this happened one day so that kinda went down the drain.

Then I decided to save up some money and buy a car in a couple of months, but someone I know was selling a mk2 bready on the cheap, which only had 46k on the clock and I couldn't really say no.

When I got it

It isn't perfect but apart from those front arches and a bit more surface rust bubbles it was a solid little car.

Things done-

  • New backbox
  • De-bumpstripped
  • De-wipered rear
  • Gave the drivers side arch a rattle can treatment
  • 13'' tarantulas refurbed in white
  • False floor in boot with built in 6x9's
  • Lowered all round (chopped springs for now)

And here's how it looks right now with the wheels refurbed in white.

  • To do list-
  • Single lamp grille
  • Lower profile tyres for the back (rubs when anyones in the back)
  • Sort more of the bodywork out
  • Nicer interior (maybe scirocco fronts)
  • Maybe a gt engine, funds depending.

Comments welcome, good or bad.
