I should have gone Action shouldnt i:-( but i missed it all last year after snapping my leg and i did say il break the car unless it gets to edition like 2yrs ago. And guy could do whatever he liked after the help he gave me last week- the car wouldnt be working without him.

Did it a few weeks ago so i can make sure my hearing is still intact by the time I'm 30

I really wanted to be at Action this weekend - but had a long haul flight to catch on Sunday and could only make one show. Had a few people I needed to speak with at Edition so that was the show I went to.

It depends what you want. If you like immaculate VWs then Edition is where it's at. If you like a three day party, Action gets it every time. Though I've not been since it moved to the Pod.

It's become bloody easy to have a whinge about Edition but it's been the same for years. If you don't like it, don't go. If you don't go, don't feel the need to slag it off at every opportunity. It's got its place, just like Action, just for a different audience.

What good stuff was there at Action then? I haven't seen a single picture from it, bet the standard of cars at ED38 was leagues ahead!

tbh, i've forgot how long its been since I've gone to a show for cars. I go for the people. Cars are just a bonus

Atmosphere at action is 'leagues ahead'. And the cars at action actually get driven, and abused down the strip.

At edition, they drive on a poncy stage and press buttons that make them go up and down.

Opinions will always clash, edition is for people who like to look at cars, action is for people who like to use them.

Something else that makes them miles apart from each other. Watercooled/aircooled

I do want to do edition, but just for the 1 day. I planned to last year, but i was having such a good time at action i didn't want to leave lol.

I've not seen any pics from Action either really, besides the 1 thread on here. But thats probably because i dont go on any aircooled forums. It'd be the opposite on there i bet, loads of action threads and one edition thread.

There was a massive field full of immaculate vw's on Sunday at action. Tbh from what I've experienced of both shows edition is more of a party than action, I know loads of people that have no interest in vw's and some that ain't even into cars that have turned up just for the Saturday night rave up.

But either way I don't see anyone slagging off edition? Few opinions being posted but at no point has anyone claimed it to be shit or owt like that?

I've had some good times at edition with a healthy amount of male nudity, but that doesn't mean I'm going to lie and say OMFG EDESHEN38 IZ FQ MUVA FUKING BOM INNIT! when ever the show is mentioned. infact had no intention of posting on any of the ed38 threads (slagging off or otherwise), I only commented on this thread because I thought it was a joke that some one that didn't even go to the show was saying that the porka was the only car there worth seeing

How can you say that?

No doubt the standard of the cars was exactly the same, they are both vw shows after all, and some vw people tend to have a habit of jizzing way too much on their cars and working to the highest standard, some of the cars at action were absolutely flawless, no doubt some at edition were too.

Infact have a flick through pascoe's album, not only will you see the standard some of the cars are but you may also notice the large amount of water cooled there, although this really is only a small selection of the cars there it should give you an idea
