rite then thought i may aswell start a wip thread on here.

sold my passat 20vt estate(costing me too much to run)to buy this for £600 so i could save some cash

as i brought it

IMG_0342.jpg

IMG_0349.jpg

IMG_0346.jpg

can just see my pride and joy in the garage in this one

IMG_0347-1.jpg

has 6 months tax and mot till july 2012

got toad alarm and immob

dvd player and screen(altho not wired up)

stainless exhaust system

and its a 1.6 8v

has the 16v bumpers

tints all round

smoothed boot

debadged grill

angeleyes(not for long tho)

coilovers

lenso rs5 alloys

drilled and grovved brakes

black roof

first thing i did was get a bra(£20 quid off ebay ftw)

DSC03512.jpg

DSC03600.jpg

DSC03622.jpg

then as the boot was smoothed but then a numberplate stuck back on(dont see the point in smoothing a boot if your putting a plate back there lol)so i decided to relocate the numberplate on the bottom of the bumper,re routed the wires for the number plate light and cut hole in the bumper etc

then i removed the plate off the boot to find this

IMG_0368.jpg

the last owner had just filed the handle hole with filler and it had all cracked and come away so i dug it all out and got the maintance bloke at work to weld me in a plate the following day then smoothed over with fibreglass and filler

IMG_0372-1.jpg

also the holes where the numberplate lights were to start with

IMG_0370.jpg

then once i sprayed it

IMG_0386.jpg

only rattle canned if for now as I'm doing my own mark on the car then it will have a respray ready for next year

parcel shelf was grey and the car has trimmed interior(roof lining in black, leather trimed dash and cupra leather seats)so i got a black rattle can and sprayed the parcel shef(seen it done on wheeler dealers lol

IMG_0387.jpg

new tax disk holder

IMG_0383.jpg

new valve caps

IMG_0382.jpg

new plates as the current ones were manky, also swapped my gash angel eyes with a mate for his standard ones(just need some clear front indicators)

IMG_0390.jpg

IMG_0389.jpg

and some stickers on the back window

IMG_0385.jpg

future plans are smooth the front bumper as much as possible

mk5 rear bumper

different wheels or do something mad with the current ones

and chequer the black roof with green squares(same colour as the car)

all comments welcome good nor bad

rite then just a small update,as i hated the wheels on the car i decided i wanted somethign oldskool and small so i went for these

IMG_0054.jpg

PICT0009.jpg

but then one fell off a week later while i was driving

IMG_0059.jpg

the wheel fell into the arch so disk landed on the inside of the wheel so it saved the bumper and wing etc only damage was the wheel bolts had ripped the thread out the hub and all came out :/

while the car was off the road for a week untill i got a new hub i decided a colour change was in ordr soooooo

IMG_0064.jpg

IMG_0072.jpg

and the car now sits this low underneeth lol

PICT0007.jpg

dont do too well onver the sleeping police stations down my road lol(massive speed humps lol)

comments welcome good or bad

car looks really kool man :D

dont like the wheels 2 much tho but thats just me ;)

  • Author

lol no one likes the wheels so your not the only one

new rear lights fitted

IMG_0078.jpg

dammm i defo need to update this now

  • 4 weeks later...
  • Author

right then kind of done a lot since i last updated this, thought about selling the car but decided not to in the end

brought some clear front indicators so i could bin the crappy smoked ones

IMG_0141.jpg

got these porsche front seats for a bargain of £70

IMG_0140.jpg

stripped all the interior out so i could do the carpet black(here is a pic half done)

IMG_0137.jpg

and so i could run the cables to the boot under the carpet properly for the amps etc in the boot(i have no pics of this tho)

refitted carpet and then porsche seats

4d358684.jpg

72056590.jpg

clear indicators fitted along with hid kit and front bumper removed so i could start smoothing it

IMG_0220.jpg

side vents in the front bumper started to be plastic welded up

IMG_0200.jpg

numberplate recess heated up from the back and pushed forward so it wasnt recesses and then the vents and what left of the recess was fibreglassed

IMG_0201.jpg

i also decided that i wanted my bonnet wrapped in something a little different so i spoke to a mate who does vinyl wrapping and come up with this

blackcamo.jpg

so bonnet was removed and dropped off at his unit and while it was away i set about fitting the screen in the dash properly(previous owner had removed the centre vents and bodged a 7" screen in there and a crappy dvd player in the glovebox that didnt work)

and here is the result with the new(well second hand £20 off my mate ripspeed dvd player and screen)relocated under the ashtray and the screen in the dash fitted properly then covered with black fleesy material to match the roof lining

7aee2d80.jpg

IMG_0225.jpg

next up is how far i am with the bumper so far :/

IMG_0214.jpg

and the wheels i decided to go for it the end

IMG_0216.jpg

but i dont like to be boring and decided the wheels needed a bit of colour and a re polish of the rims(second hand cost me £70 for the 4 wheels)

and i came up with this

49376fde.jpg

got my bonnet back

bonnet1.jpg

IMG_0269.jpg

IMG_0270.jpg

IMG_0267.jpg

IMG_0268.jpg

and as far as i know i am quite possibly the first person to have that vinyl on a car,his the only person to have brought it off the supplier in the country I'm led to belive.

and trial fitted the wheels on the car today(minus rubber as not payday till 21st lol)going for 165/50/15s so ill have some stretch

IMG_0277.jpg

IMG_0276.jpg

IMG_0275.jpg

IMG_0278.jpg

IMG_0274.jpg

just need some longer bolts so i can run my spacers on the front as the rim fouls the coilovers :(

all comments welcome good or bad,i dont modify to please everyone else i do it cus i like it lol,but all comments welcome all the same :)

Not a fan of the smoothed boot man. Never have been with 6n's

+1. The centre console looks tacky with the way its been trimmed too.

Other than that, its looking pretty good.

  • Author

Looks well nice any more plans

  • Author
