Mk2 GSXR Polo

Featured Replies

I'm building a rear engined polo. I have been for a while now, it's just taking time as I'm constantly working! So far I have stripped it out, took the standard 1.3 engine out and cut all the rear end out. I have everything for it, I just don't have the time! I need to build a chassis to mount the engine and the diff. And then I can fabricate the mounts for the rear suspension to get it sat on it's wheels again as the back end is on blocks of wood. (at the ride height I will be using). Think I'm going for an independent wishbone setup as I am using sierra cosworth driveshafts discs and pads for the rear drive, which mate to the rear diff. Then I can weld in the roll cage in to the car and to the chassis for the bike engine. So a fair bit to do!

One day it will be on the road!

Pics will be up soon, as i don't think I can upload any on my iPad which is annoying!!

It's apparently a 197bhp race engine off one of my dads mates. So it's not bad for a 1000cc

I was gonna, but apparently the 1000 have slightly more tourqe than the busa. Which will help it as it's coing in a car. Plus they're like 3 times as much as I paid for the engine gear box wire ring loom and clocks I paid for mine. And more expensive if they go boom

Can't wait to see this thing finished. You should make a build thread for it here.

I have all the parts apart from the cage and seats. One the rear chassis has been fabricated and we have the right ride heigth sorted and all the mounts right, the shockers are going to Gaz shocks to be spruced up and made to coil overs.

Once I have time, I reckon maybe 6 months. I work on power stations where the work is seasonal, and earn enough to have a few months out of work, so when I get laid off I'm gonna try get down every day and go for it!! It could have been done for this summer but I've been slacking haha

Bice work, I look forward to seeing how it goes. However, with no weight over the front wheels, you oils suffer some cornering and handling issues
