ball joint most probly

I'd say shagged top mount. Does it knock around corners?

Check all the bushes. Most likely one will be slack and causing the knocking. Plus the ball joints and top mouts as above.

It doesnt knock around corners but it does it a lot if I'm turning left sharply and i go over a bump, even a small bump it does it, and I'm sure i can feel it through the steering wheel

Jack it up, check for play by shaking the wheel top and bottom, left and right. Left and right is usually track rod end/rack. Top and bottom usually ball joints or top mounts or wheel bearing. Check all bushings for movement aswell, when shaking. Get a mate to help and feel for play.

If it's not knocking around corners it's unlikely to be a cv. As said, check bushes and joints for play
