thanks for all the offers

looks like they are no longer available from all the motor factors around here

so I'm going to put a 5 speed in and money tight as still don't have a full time job

all of the selectors are the same on the 4/5 speed

they are differnet mate

the 4 speed is like pic

the 5 speed has another part on the bottom for the extra movement

plus they are a different size and mount

all of the selectors are the same on the 4/5 speed

Not from what I can see on etka, allthough I could be wrong

Drop me a text Matt, I'm only down the road from you. I think I may have bought a set of steels off you a while back actually?

its ok now adam, I'm converting to 5 speed

pettsy-

Not being a Geek mate but i have had a few Mk2's polo's thru my hands, and have Rebuild a few like steve -86c

there is a difference, plus what I'm rebuilding is a mk1 Derby so early stuff.

thanks for everyones help, but i have sorted it now

Doing some research with pics there is a difference, but if you look on etka only one is listed, 191 711 233. Curiously the diesel has a different one listed?

No worries!

The reason etka may only show one is because the five speed is compatible with a fourspeed box, however the four speed selector is not compatible with a five speed box, I found this when converting to five speed and playing around with a few things. Atleast this is how it seemed to me, may be wrong though.
