The drive home was ok, apart from the cutting out at junctions and running on 3 cylinders till you put your foot down.

Plus the dam thing whines like a G-lader, I\'m putting this down to an overtightened alternator belt, sounds epic for about 5 minutes :smirk:

Later that night i smelt fuel, thought nothing of it untill i watched the fuel guage droping continuously (sp?), got out of the car and looked underneath...nothing.

Then started the engine and looked under agian, The fuel pumps outlet hose was firing a jet of fuel onto the exhuast  Good job I spotted it early or the car would be history. I had one tool in the car, a flathead...awsomely enough the clamp holding the hose on was just lose, so while getting soaked by rain and fuel it was sorted in 5 minutes.

So dispite the bad points I\'m F*cking loving driving a GT agian! :D

Plans are:

Good clean and polish.

Get the engine running right, possibly just needs retiming or a set of new leads and plugs.

Get the alternator belt slackened.

Sort the horn out as it switches the CD player on when used.

Bit of red detialing here and there

Get searching for wheels that actualy fit under bready arches

Sort the seats out, mainly the adjustment part of the seats

How many GT breadys are left on the road? Think its 75 to what Howmanyleft says.

Make that 76 now 8-)

Martin Do the GT wheel trims fit ok under the arches of your bready ok? Thinking of getting some

Think around 90 GT Breadvans are taxed. I have the GT Coupe 5.5J wheels and trims and they fit fine dude. The GT Breadys were 4.5J as standard and the GT Coupe and Hatchback trims are different too!

Really like the colour ! Be nice on a coupe :)

all it neeeds now is some black bbs ra's with custom green center caps ! ( like the ones am selling ) get them on it !

Exhuast fell off, not serprised as its the orginal one (rusted to fook), so i got some big powerflow backbox (£25) on temperarly due to the noise it made, its hidden well though.

Need to PM scott about the tax, did it online so the disc will be going to him

New pictures will be up as soon as i find my dam camera cable!

Nay - doubt they wouldnt go under the arches, got polo 6n steels on at the moment and there close to the arches. And i dont want to start buchering the car for wheels. They look lush though!, I'm intrested in your roll cage though

Max, il be keeping it for atleast 6months, selling no sooner as thats when i can afford a g40, when it happes you'll get a pm.

Or I may G40 this bready, as it'd be a hell of alot cheaper than having a genuine one, and after watching adam fly past me in his blue g40 convertion it got me thinking :smirk:

Thanks for all the comments lads  makes fixing it worthwhile.

Did some things yesterday.

New sparkplugs - fitted

Painted rear GT badge red

although I had no timing light I had to advance the timing a few degress, done the world of good - bit more power too.

Fitted the seats correctly and put in some locking nuts to stop the seats falling out when adjusting them (they where missing)

Retightened Fuel lines just to make sure.

This is a cool bready, saw it for sale. Paint looks funky fresh.

How good is the heater now it's had the modification? I've read up on how to do it, but wondered how worthwhile it is?!

the heater mods awsome, but you sacrifice the ice cool air that usualy comes out of the blowers, even when its dialed to cold. It more like luke warm air that comes out. Nothing that winding down the windows doesnt sort though

Replaced the engine mount earth today, as the old one was pritty grubby.

And my tax disc finaly arrived, Had a copper pull up next to me yesterday at a shell garage, started staring at my windscreen and spotted no tax disc, must have checked the database and pottled on his way  I bet he thought, this is to easy..... Oh.

Gave herpy a good clean today, and used some spray on wax, got some awsome reflextion, will get some pics of them up later.

Coool. Being that i'm usually cold come rain or shine (or snow or wind for that matter) i dont think it'll bother me too much! Looking forward to having a decent warm heater in a polo for the first time in 7 years lol.

Cheers

Had such a great time at pod in the bready :D

Picked up a standard rear section exhaust from lupoluke on here (legend ) that will be chucking on this week sometime.

managed 17.0s down the strip which is about bang on for a stock GT, and came 2nd in the dizzy rascals track, missing out on 1st by 0.3 seconds
