Picked this up yesterday for a really good price, but I was a bit wary after seeing glass in the boot, his name wasnt on the V5 and the boot lock looks like someones had a go at entering with a screwdriver. Bloke was from Essex aswell and every other word he said was 'I'm gunna be honest with you, I've got nothing to hide' so I was a bit rude to him lol! Did a car check when I got home, its not reported as stolen and everything is well :) other than that the guy was a legend, restored old campers and split screens for a living, but I was too busy looking at the car when me dad was chatting to him!

Managed to get home fine, problem with the temp sensor I think, it variates on tickover. Also its really hard to start as the ignition barrel is stiff, anyone know how I can resolve this? anyway heres the spec :)

I think that it has just been broken into in its past, the boot doesnt lock properly, there are sub and amp wires everywhere and no headunit. the boot does fit properly either but after a bit of adjusting all will be well :)

I've alread got a bit of advice from him already tbh lol pointed me in the right direction for a few things.

Putting my green one back to standard but theres no rush, gunna get some coilover socks and give this car some proper love, it hasnt been abused, just never cleaned!

Hopefully the leathers will be in today!

Decided just to whack it on those on some 195 45's and whack the coilovers on and leave it like that for the winter. Hoard parts and slowly do things properly! As I've said it needs a bit of work, the ignition barrel is fucked now, wont start at all :(

Try taking the casing off and see if you can move it etc...if not might have to be a new ignition barrel etc jobby :/

Tried most of the day, right bastard to do :/ might just get a new ignition and door barrell and key and change the lot. Might be easier?

Most of the car feels like sandpaper, gone through a whole clay bar and its still rough as a badgers arse. Gunna have to buy a few more I think!

Fitted the Leathers yesterday after scrubbing EVERYTHING inside, comes up really nice! The seat runners were full of that gunky shizzle which was difficult to get off the carpets :/ Front grill is rusted on somehow aswell, soaked it in WD40 yesterday and ill have another go after work today. Also I took the mudflaps off the back, but need a different socket that I dont own to take the wheels off on the front to get to the front flaps. Will replace the front centre grill and top left as tehy are broken, luckily I've got some lying around.

Coilovers might be fitted by the weekend if I can sell my classics, SOMEONE BUY THEM! THERE A STEAL!

Ill give the throttle body a good clean out, and change the temp sensor. Also my speedo doesnt work, the rev counter does, and the petrol gauge changes when I go round corners? Love it...

Got a few more sensors to change by the sounds of things :p good luck!

Have you ever resprayed any panels with rattle cans? Just starting clay barring again and saw some parts have been touched up badly. Didn't get to have a proper look as it started raining AGAIN!

I would be spraying full panels anyway, with white I thought it might be a bit easier. Got a spare 16v rear bumper I might have a go with first and see how it turns out...

So pissed off though, some panel look like they've been sanded down in places unnecessarily, I just want it to stop bloody raining!

I'd imagine there's many 'shades' of white which will inevitebly make life hard for you.

I've been told its candy white, ill get that confirmed and get some paint. Try it with rattle cans and see what finish I get, I've sprayed wheels, and a few panels before so ill see how it goes!
