did you torque them up to nominal torque figures, and put a paint mark on in the correct colour for a new fixing being torqued?

I have no idea how these work however, I know I'm going to be 4 1/2 teeth out when I time up so I'm guessing this will give me at least half a tooths adjustment. What is the max adjustment on these?

Nah, you only need to make these have just over half a tooth adjustment each way, you just set the cam 4 teeth out, then use the adjustment on this to take up the fraction of a tooth.

yeah like he said, you only need a tooths adjustment, because you can get it within the range of 1 tooth and use the adjustment on the pulley to move it :)

The slots allow you to rotate the teeth by half a turn with respect to the camshaft, basically letting you time the cam and crank up as accurately as possible.

It's more the actual technicalities and design. How are the teeth attached to the inner wheel

The plate just allows you to rotate the outside mate, its all bolted onto it but because of the slots it can move when unbolted.

got mine on now, all fits ok...the bolt heads are VERY close to the engine mount bracket on a mk4 engine though!
