It's still PERFECTLY DRIVABLE through every gear, i just don't want anyone to be put off so i am being completely honest and really need a sale now. I took it to the garage today and he said when he did my clutch it could do with a new rubber for the mount as it wasn't in great shape. I wasn't aware of this before & need a sale now as new car seen so I've now dropped the price by £450 (for quick sale)....the rubber is max of £20...labour not much more. You can DIY if you have a way of raising the car to get under it. If it doesn't go soon i will do this myself, but as it stands now I don't have space as my dad's Ford model Y is in our garage for winter being worked on. The vibrating due to needing a new rubber isn't bad at all if even noticeable, you only really notice it when car is idling! Any more questions please PM me.

Only bought this a month or so ago, Drove it back from oxford fine (250 miles away) I was originally putting it up for sale as I could really use the money as a deposit on something I'd been needing for years and didn't come up often & this is my Second G40. As it's getting nearer to winter i could do with something more practical for where i live, as it get's pretty shit weather conditions up here in the coming months as I'm right on the moors!

Good points: Recently in my ownership it's had; Brand new fuel tank, Brand new clutch fitted. (The expensive bits..) Costing over £400. Loads of history for both the 'loon and the donor G40.

- Lowered 70mm

- 14" BBS Ra's (6J) 2 good tyres 2 need replacing..

- K&N induction kit

- 76mm direct cold air feed, works upto 1 bar.

- Boost gauge & Fuel switch mounted in lower centre console.

- G40 interior.

- G40 engine, complete set up, & all other parts were taken from donor G40 car.

- I've also relocated the washer bottle into scuttle tray using one from a mini (So have the original washer bottle if required)

- Fahrvergnugen tuning chip

- NO rust, when i replaced the fuel tank i was amazed how clean it is underneath. All original paint & underseal

Bad points: Paint has a large scratch (could be keying) down the rear right quarter, area on top of rood faded but polishes up ok. A few scuffs around the rear lights, all easily fixed. Paint generally 'what you'd expect' from something 21 years old.

when was the charger last rebuilt?

Just had a look through the history of the g40 and there's no obvious sign of a g-lader rebuild, I can safely say there's no oil leaking, still pulls at right boost as the gauge will show, welcome to have a full inspection!

Well I'm not in any sort of hurry to sell it so it might be!

Charger not having proof of recent rebuild or not this looks like a lot of car for not that much money.

Bare in mind that mk3 saloons (especially non rusty ones) are hard to get hold of and all seem to be going for near enough £1000 these days. Then factor in a G40 engine conversion, suspension, new tank, clutch etc etc etc and all the other bits and bobs. Loads of car for the dollar.

If i had enough room in my life for another G40 i'd be all over this.

and would you be tempted with a mk4 polo with a valver engine (8v on the book) smoothed 5 door with full leather interior??

If running standard G40 pulley and the only engine mod being a chip and induction i would say 125bhp tops. Although a very reliable power figure with running standard pulley you can go 25-30k between charger builds iirc. 65mm pulley means you do it every 10-15k miles.

^ this! Either way it gives you the g-smiles and it's a really fun car and pulls just as well as my last g40 bready which my friend now owns. Sorry for no definate figures just it's never been RR'ed to my knowledge!

And oh sorry, have you got any pictures etc of this valver conversion? Although I'll be honest....I'm wanting a valver just for it's engine and other conversion parts :( So wouldn't want to ruin your car mate, cheers.
