hi all, i've just bought these wheels off ebay and nthe previous owner says that they are 4x100 as she had them fitted to her mk1 golf, i'm not 100% convinced that they are and i suspect they could be mini fitment, can you tell from the pics? and if they are 4x100 fitment will i need spigots? as i know some revo's are opel fitment etc.... and if they are mini fitment i know i will need wobble bolts but what spigots will i need? and the seller said this also:

"there 4 by 100 if you have drums on the back there if ok but would need spaces as there flat on the inner side."

does this mean i need spacers to clear my brake calipers?

revolution wheels normally used sleeved bolts... If you google Revolution wheel bolts you will see what I mean.

so will i need these revo bolts or strandard bolts or longer standard bolts or wobble bolts?

the seller has also now said that she never used any wobble bolts or spigot rings when she had them on her mk1 golf

looking at them i suspect they are vaux fitment probably from a chevette. cant say what bolts as the pics arent detailed enough.

so i'll need spigots then or is it that vauxhall are smaller? i also need to know what bolts to get now as i need these on by the end of the week

without seing the wheels its hard to say. some early vauxhall stuff will bolt on without spigots or fancy bolts, others wont.

Maybe should have done the homework before commiting? On a serious note, you really are going to need to get the wheels first and measure everything up. My revos are 4x98mm spacing (mini?). Not sure about center bore. Haven't fitted them yet though as I have 256mm brakes. Just bought them because they were cheap. You could buy everything you think you need, and they still amy not fit, so you need to do the measuring yourself. People say a lot on ebay to sell you things

and the seller has had them on her mk1 golf with just regular bolts and she said this before i even mentioned that i was going to be putting them on a polo, but i want to know if i should be doing something diffrerent and i'm just being careful really, i just don't think revo's were ever made to fit a vw directly, i know they will fit but i want them to fit properly

what sort of width spacers do people usually need to clear their brake calipers if the wheels are too close? i've been warned i may need to space them a bit

right i've got these today and i've measured up and the centre bore is about 62mm give or take, what would this mean they are off originally as i may need spigot rings? i've ordered the bolts and spacers i need too and they definitely look 4x100 or very close, the previous owner got away with standard bolts anyway, when all the things come i can hopefully fit them

those are the rfx model. most probably 6j wide et38 with taper steel wheel bolt inserts, even have 57.1 centrebore too. They were fitted to the GM dealer sport vauxhall novas used for rallying. you could also get them in 5x5j wide.

if they dont have radius or taper seat wheel bolts you will need spigot rings. 62mm centrebore is probably just a generic size revolution bored them out too as a majority of smaller wheels cars tend to have center-bores smaller than this.

definately run spigot rings mate otherwise you are just relying on the bolts holding the wheel central and in place and they also help take some of the strain off the bolts too serioudly well worth getting some and they are only a fiver roughly off ebay and you will need 62mm - 57.1mm size

just remeasured to make sure and the centre bore is near enough 64mm (its difficult to measure it exactly), i'd order some right now but i will be running 10mm spacers on the front with the correct length bolts (60mm) to clear the calipers, does this mean a spigot ring would be useless as the spacers would push the wheels away from the hub?

the back is a different story though as i dont need spacers but i will be fitting some so that it looks good, what would be better; stub axle spacers, vw hubcentric bolt on spacers or whatever 64mm wheels are bolt on spacers so i don't need spigots?

Depends on the spacers you buy. If you go hubcentric, the spigots will obviously fill the gap between the wheel center bore and the hubcentric 'collar'. If they are not, then the spigots will do little/nothing. Regarding rear spacers, I like the axle spacers as They reduce the strain on the bearings (since your not increasing the lever length, as you would do with wheel spacers) but that may be irrelevant, depending on how much your spacing by. Personally I'm running 3x5mm axle spacers (15mm each side) and 20mm wheels spacers on the rear. With my 6", ET38 wheels, they sit perfectly in the MK2 loon arch.

Either way, spigots are pennies so its always worth a punt and peace of mind

does that mean you are spacing the rears 35mm? mine are a funny offset so mine are spaced about 15-20mm and they are 5-10mm from the arch already

i bought some 63.4 ones and they fit perfectly, apparently its the centre bore of aftermarket wheels like some bbs, ats, schmidt and ronal

i have fitted the normal spacers on the front as they are 10mm and you cant get 10mm bolt on spacers as the bolts wouldn't be able to sit flush, so the spigots on the front aren't doing anything, and on the back at the moment the bolts i bought were 10-15mm too long and i had to put washers between the hub and the wheel they sit very nice though, i'll put pics up in my build thread later but i don't think i could use bolt on spacers on the front and for the moment the rears are the same, but i do want proper 20-25mm spacers for the back but i need new bolts too!

you realise you can get 10mm hubcentric spacers? big boys toys sell them. they arent bolt on, but fit snugly over the std hubs. makes life getting the wheels on and off a whole lot easier.

daaaaamn forgot about the non-bolt-on sort may get some then and put the ones on the front on the back for the mo, they'll be safer than washers!
