thats a question only you can answer. Are you going to use it while your at uni, or are you going to be too busy getting pi$$ed? lol

uni or trent? at uni they have become really strict on parking on campus now :(

Yeah bring you car and get yourself to Derby Dubs Meets.

Have a look on the Derby Dubs site mate.

Pete.

They were strict when I was there 9 years ago! I got fined for having a car in the hall car park. Pissed me off as it was 3 weeks from the end of term, and I'd only got the car there to move my shit out to save my folks having to collect me.

The aim of the game back then was to come up with a bullshit reason for needing a car, and then being allowed to buy a parking permit - only a couple of people in my hall managed it, and that was because they told the hall warden they had a sick/dying relative they visited regularly.

Or I guess you could park up in Lenton or Beeston, but probably not the best of ideas if you're likely to leave the car parked up for weeks at a time.

when i took my old polo gt to uni and parked it in the halls car park i spent more time worrying about the idiots who also lived in my hall block not damaging it tbh they used to play football in the car park which used to wind me up intensely!

and it was a drain on money, personally if you can id leave the car at home

Yes.

yeah fair enough! i left mine outside derby hall for my last term and didnt get any tickets but know of loads of people who did.

managed to find a parking permit on the floor in the last few weeks that i tipexed out the reg and wrote on mine though haha.

my gf has just gone to Lincoln Uni and it has pretty much NO PARKING ANYWHERE! like literally every place you looked you had to buy a permit for some stupid amount of money.

I hate that people can make sooo much money out of me wanting to leave my car somewhere.

The worst of it is that there LOTS of parking spaces right outside the Halls and they are even gated at night so would be nice a safe (cctv everywhere lol) but they wont let anyone park there without paying the £54.95 permit (along with the once off £25 set up fee). They can get fucked if they think I'm paying £75 to park my car. It would be cheaper to leave it on double yellows and pay the £60 fine LOL :retard: :retard: :retard:

Living in notts myself id say theres no point, parkings crap everywhere the further into town you get, if you move into a house next year it might be worth it but whilst your still in halls its probably a waste of time

I went to Nottingham Trent and it's when I got my first polo mk2 breadvan £125 loved it and looked like a bag of crap thinking no one will break into this I was so wrong. had the tax disc stolen.

And the parking is crap got a few tickets as well the wardens hide in the bushing waiting to ticket you.

Oak student letts where pretty good live in a house near Clarendon college and it was massive. driveway had room for 6 cars

Rock City FTW!!!!!

Rock City <3

I'm not at the same Uni, but since at Uni, I've used my car 4 times in the last two weeks, and to be honest only one of those I actually needed to use it.

I've had to leave it down some horrible back street, thankfully it's only a Corsa so I don't really care about it, but if it was my Polo I'd always be worrying.

yes.

Go to Netherfield on Sunday night...

be carefull i used to park near my gfs hall in sheffield.. and loads of the cars hot damaged.. never mine tho lol

Go to Netherfield on Sunday night...

THIS :D

free remote gated parking at my uni flat.... :-D

I dont use the car a hell of a lot, but it's nice to have it there to go for a blast every now an then!

not sure if you have done anything about this yet mate but i lived in the city for 2 years whilst i was at trent

1st year in hyson green - had a silver 6n2 and parked it just near the tram stop...never had an issue

2nd year moved right into city centre so payed £50 a month for underground car park (cctv, electric fob etc)...sounds expensive now (there might even be cheaper out there) but its like a kind of insurance in a way...£50 a month Vs. the risk of getting your car robbed/broken into/damaged, i know which one i would go for every time.

plus you get to learn which spaces are free and can have you mates down whenever for as long as and they don't have to pay for parking...happy days

hope that helps

Joe
