Featured Replies

Right looking to move up in the world and get a mk3 golf gti (i know its not moving on but its faster than a polo) but that means selling my awesome little polo :(

I've had it for about 3 year as it was my first car, loadsa love and care and money spent on it in them 3 years but the time has probably come to move along. I was going to get a full respray but cant really justify the money now.

So I'm just seeing if there is any interest really, if its any good, bad, crap, really good, really really good or just scrap metal.

Make: VW Polo

Model: L/CL T reg 1.0

Year/Reg: 1999

Mileage: 83K which is pretty low for a 12 year old car :-o

MOT: 12 months, straight through with one advisory!!!

Tax: 6 months

Good points: about 6 months ago it had a new clutch

- two freshly painted wings (look the dogs)

- very low milage for the year, not really seen many lower than 100k,

- lowered on TA technicks coilovers (nice and stiff for speedy cornering)

- 14x6j 5 spokes unsure on make but looks and suit it real nice.

- month old K&N (like) aitfilter with air feed from behind grill.

- subaru GC8 bucket seats welded onto polo frames and sit nicely inside (feels like they hug you in the corners)

- all CL door cards etc except for dash as i didnt get round to it.

- stripped, boarded and carpetted rear, i have all standard CL front and back seats.

- polished rocker cover.

- 16v bumpers front, with fogs, and rear ( not in awesome condition but look nice)

- nice cat back exhaust (unknown make as brother fitted it before he passed it down to me)

- cambelt done at 46k i think

- front upper strut brace

- smoked dark rear lights (never seen another set of these)

- pressed plates

- large bora, i think, rear view mirror.

- super dooper bright bulbs in lights and fog lights.

- good engine.

- non reflective bits sprayed black in headlights.

- badge sprayed same collour as wheel :-S

Bad points:

- As mentioned before bumpers arent in awesome condition, didnt bother me though, when polished up the car stil looked awesome.

- few rust spots, nothing huge (its a 12 year old car :-D)

- box is ever so slightly notchy going into 3rd but nothing major.

- tappets rattle a bit when first start up in mornings, but goes within about 2.4 seconds.

Location: telford, shropshire tf6

Price: probably looking for about £850 as it is now but as i said before not in a massive rush to get rid of it so looking for interest at the moment as it could be up for sale in the next month :-D

And Nah sorry pal, wanna sell it as a whole, can't b bothered with all the splitting.

Update, will swap this for a mk3 golf gti 8v :-).

really like this mate, get in touch with me when you decide to sell it

scottlowther* i will do :-).

another little update that i just remember, i have serviced it every 6-8 months or so myself: this includes, oil, oil filter, cleaning of air filter. Also done the gearbox oil, spark plugs, HT leads, and particle filter twice since i've owned it.

Also sorry to say but if the original front and rear seats will cost another £50 if needed but if i'm feeling particularly nice i might chuck it all in.

Just remembered, i did the rear wheel bearings about 6 months ago so they are fine. And its got a momo millennium steering wheel :-).
