Had the alt apart so did a bit of detailing while I was at it

I'm gonna tie the gold in with a little more under the bonnet and gold centers on the wheels with polished lips, gonna be a lot of gloss and Matt black under the bonnet too. Never been one for detailing but while I'm stripping it all down I might as well clean it all up and give it a lick of paint to tidy it all up

I'm keeping the fake venoms Ben they are going back on it once refurbished and new tyres

Arch rolling? Real men use angle grinders

That's pretty straight. . .

It didn't need to be as it was covered by arch trim's, it was just a quick bodge done years ago to stop the tyre getting ripped up by a rusty arch, no need at all to be neat or tidy. A bodge well hidden is a bodge well done

Ben I've never said they weren't fake venoms, its when people call them venoms that i correct them

effel was asking about the venoms unless he was getting confused as well?

Words of wisdom from the master 8-)

But it doesn't rip the arch trim off like it would if it didn't give way like that

Anyone wanna buy the td lump out of this drop me a pm, I'm going vr6

Wha?

You dont like VR's Guy

I don't like mk3's, I've heard a lot of good things about them in mk2's and they are the most powerful straight swap into the jetta. Tbh I'm doing it more for the noise than any thing and my mates doing one in his mk2 so I need some thing to keep up with that

I want this to be pretty well spec'd but also have some poke as it will be a case of having either this or the polo on the road at a time so it needs to be able to put a bit of a smile on my face, the td was ok but there's no replacement for displacement :-)

how much? i might know of a certain caddy thats always needing spares

For sale add is on here olly although got a lad coming to look at it at the weekend

Ben like I said above I'm doing it for the noise more than any thing, and all the bitching I've done was about mk3 vr's, I'm scrapping the main thing that makes the vr are so shit... The mk3 bit

Cracks me up that caddy does

You had your chance salty

vr's sound nice, but even nicer is the guy i know with the vr6 supercharged :ninja:

  • Author

Haha nice

In my head I'd like to aim for some sort of charged vr monster, but I know for a fact it would never happen so no point thinking about it

Watched some video's of shit like that on you tube and they are fucking impressive tho

yeah would be an epic win, but a standard one is nice on its own as a starting point.

whats your diesel like power wise?

No idea mate but it was just (and I mean just) a bit quicker than my mates passat tdi that was chipped up to about 130-140. It wasn't the fastest thing on earth but it was fun for an old smoker 8-)

awesome! does look like alotta fun in your videos smoking away hahah! can you turn the boost up any more?

  • Author

Yeah, by keeping my foot in it longer

Feed for the actuator is venting to air meaning it will boost until the engine gives up or the turbo shits itself but you'd really have to be ringing its neck for any thing like that to happen, although tbh I don't think the pump could supply enough fuel to create enough boost to do that. Easily maxed out a 30psi gauge before blowing the pipe off the back of it many times, once while handing a a BMW its ass from the lights
