Diesel lump was collected this morning

The engine bay is stripped of pretty much every thing and ready for a fucking good scrub and some welding before being prepped for paint

That's the first thing on my list when I can drag my lazy arse out into the cold, the inner cv's are the 90mm ones but they are still attached to the drive shafts and are on their way to oxford with the rest of the conversion, i'll be using all the vr6 shit from the mk3

Easiest way if you've got the whole car.

Transfer all the five stud running gear across, just remember the brake hoses when you take them off

What year is the Vr which you're using?

Rado or passat pedalbox to sort the clutch?

I will have the whole car although I won't be buying that until in the new year and it'll just be a case of which ever is the best one in my price range at the time. I've been on the mk2vr site a fair bit recently and there's some great info on there

I'm gonna use as much off the mk3 as is possible, I was also looking at using the mk3 dash but after seeming how much work it is it hardly seems worth it but we shall see, It would been nice to get the aircon in with it

Ditching the aircon apparantly gets you a fair amount more power from what I can understand!

And fuck the ABS off too! Less to have to mess about with to get working! Its a separate loom to the engine so theres no need to strip it back and find the wires to ditch.

You don't need the ABS, you'll be aiming to buy one cheaply so aircon isn't an issue.

Just use the subframes, engine and the engine loom/bits, run the mk3 tank and lines.

The jetta is 90 spec so its easier, what did you do for the diesel conversion inside, like the internal loom.

I know I don't to fit the abs or aircon (doing the same conversion to a mates golf and used non of it) just thinking about a well tricked jetta that's all

This jetta is ce1 wiring so I'm having to rewire the whole thing which is a bit of a pisser but nothing I haven't done in the past. This was another reason I was thinking of using the mk3 dash, I could just stick the whole mk3 loom in and then splice the rear mk3 loom with the jettas. The diesel conversion just had a pikey push button wired in for the glow plugs and that was it

Pikey push ?

You mean wire from the battery to the switch, other half to the glow plug rail, push and hold till it starts or sets on fire?

If you really want abs you could use the stuff from a corrado or the mk3 loom is actually a seperate unit which can be installed and the sensors will be on the mk3 axles. You'd have to source a rallye or G60 or ed one brake light switch and the light part of the loom.

Wiring the car to CE2 would be the best bet, the mk3 dash is just a lot of effort for no serious gain, just a hacked up dashboard.

Easily done in a weekend without running two fuseboxes.

Had to be sold of to make room for my new daily and to pay for the bits it needs to get it on the road. A sad day but it was either this or the chevette that had to go and I still have a lot that I wanna do with the chevette
