Port and polished, skimmed, rebuilt 1300cc cylinder head GT,MH,AAV etc

Featured Replies

Will be taking all this out pretty soon and it will be all for sale.

The MH bottom end has done around 90k? Nice and smooth. Painted black with high temp paint. Will be missing a sump plug.

£40 ONO

Full rebuilt, ported and polished GT head. This has had new stem seals and has had its tappets stripped cleaned and rebuilt. Has covered about 2000 miles after its rebuild and was a great addition to a very strong engine. It was also profesionally skimmed. Will come without a camshaft.

£60 complete bargain!

In sheffield, will not post the bottom end but will happily post the head.

pics can be found here http://www.clubpolo.co.uk/forum/index.php?...2948&st=350

By the way, the GT head has had the hole bored out to fit a manual fuel pump. This can simply be capped off using a little plate.

I will be taking the engine out as whole, it was assembled not long ago with a new waterpump, head gasket, head bolt and cambelt etc.

I would rather sell it as a whole assembly btw.

To get the engine running, you will need a camshaft, gearbox , fuel system and charging system.

Hi Max,

I might be interested in this.

Dumb question alert - Can i use my current camshaft, gearbox and charging system or will i need to grab GT ones?

Just found a 4 speed gearbox that fits this engine, came off a 1.05 mk3.

£20 collected.

This block and head, coupled with a weber DMTL and a mild camshaft made 87bhp!

Gearbox sold.

Head and bottom end still for sale!

Is the head still available? Almost certainly interested.

Certainly is, still need to take it off the block.

Well in that case, pencil me in, depending on a few factors...

was the porting/polishing proffesionally done? If not, what methods were used and were each of the combustion chambers matched? And when you say polished, what exactly are you referring to - the ports should not be a mirror finish as the rough surface inside the inlet ports has to stay rough (can be smoothed out and then roughed up with 40 grit) for fuel atomisation.

Also, you say it has no cam, my engine is a standard 1.3 AAV engine (CL coupe), so I'm assuming mine is a bog standard cam - what cam were you running, what cam(s) are ideal, and do you have one available (if different to mine)

Cheers, Steve

What do you mean by professionally?

The inlet and outlet ports have been "smoothed", removing casting marks and imperfections,

And its also had the sharp inside radius smoothed, just underneath the valve seats,

The skimming was done professionally, by me.

Yes the inlet ports are not mirror polished, hence me not stating it.

The engine has no camshaft, you can use your AAV one.

right then, in that case, ill have it, assuming its in sheffield as per OP

It's in Sheffield yeah, but can post for an extra tenner, which would suite me better as I work shifts.

Hmm, go on then!
