I love the instructions on that ad:

1. Buy suitable part on our auction

2. Pay money (price and postage) by PayPal

3. Wait for a parcel

so simple

^^ Lol!

What a mug, i threw away a few 11th-16th Sept newspapers just three years ago when i moved out the flat, wish i'd kept them now - along with about 500,000 others who still have one kicking about..

Can i jump in and gloat for a second?

I sold a gearknob for £127 about 5 years ago.

From a 99p start mind.

I can't be held responsible for what people are willing to pay. :D

The price is a bit alpha, not even Mike Brewer could get him into triple figures from there.

But all it needs is a sunday's worth of tlc - satin black vinyl paint for the bumpers/grille isn't a bad idea even without some red undercoat, bit of splash over the bonnet/roof, looks like a really tidy one otherwise.

^^Lol. Was it a VW motorsport one by any chance?

Anyway. Heres a ruined polo loon, with a stupid price:

Spot on! :-D

Thought so  . Those go for big money still. I have a leather one in mine. It was free, as i found it in the loft. It was put up there years ago when my mom decided she didnt want it in her golf. I saw one for sale on here, and it reminded me and i went in search.

that thing is wrecked :|

Four grand - after being picked up by a grabber? There's seeing an opportunity, and then there's just plain off your face..

A mate once said "if you can still tell it used to be a split screen, its worth at least £4k"

Thing is that's not bad at all compared to some that I've seen, and would be a fairly easy repair for a seasoned aircooled restorer. Try and find one better for less, they sell for crazy money even in fucked condition

^^Lol. Was it a VW motorsport one by any chance?

Spot on! :-D

Whaaaaaat!? I've got two of the bastards!

Not sure if it's of any use in helping diagnose the problem but on the MOT sheet I got with it the advisory notices that are on there are:

001: Nearside front suspension has slight movement at a wishbone pin or bush

002: Offside front suspension has slight movement at a wishbone pin or bush

There is a few others but not relating to the front end could these be factors?

£1K for a poverty spec Fox....

its so poverty spec there isnt even a trip counter....

hey! mine doesnt have a trip counter, or should i say, 'didnt' does now.

and at that price i should be able to get atleast £1300 with mine being matte black and has alloys ect :p (I WISH!)

Shame you cant make him an offer 8-)

For new boxed and genuine, that's not vastly over the odds to be fair. A pair of pattern ones would cost you most of that new, and the fit ain't great on them.
