Comments: Hello I'm Beinn, I brought the polo on 08/08/2009 for £250, past my test on 17/06/2010, put the sound system in it, took the trim off the side, did the parking dents on it and drove it around with grey primer patches all over it style_emoticons/#EMO_DIR#/smile.gif. (I was going to give it a nice coat of red, 40mm springs, clear indies, de- badge grill and some nice enough wheels.. <all of which i had mounted up by this point).... BUT...on the 11/11/2010 i crashed in to the back of a fiesta van!! style_emoticons/#EMO_DIR#/sad.gif I veed up the bonnet, pushed in the front panel, bent a wing, cracked the bumper and well lets just say the iron was one odd shape! But still drove it about till 30/12/2010:) Shhh! So got all the crash repair done on my drive by 22/01/2011 and it's been there being redone up antill 10/09/2011 when i got it mot'd! Iv been driving it since! style_emoticons/#EMO_DIR#/biggrin.gif So hears a couple of pics and after that i shall start from the beginning of the build, ok.

Thanks guys. Would have loved it to be a VW colour but Iris blue and Horizon blue (1950's-60's VW colours that i liked) were not quite write. Also thought about doing it BMW Oxygen blue and many other colours along the way. Spent many lunch times looking threw profi colour cards and eventually decided on the colour you see now, which turned out to be a 1980's Hyundai colour called Jamaica blue.

any more images of how it looks now, beautiful colour choice!!

Cheers mate! It's a 1.3, just got a Seat 1.0l cover on it! :) Will remove 1.0 lettering when I get round to it!

this looks so good. how did you get all of the front panel off and what did you do about refitting? thought they are fatory pressed together

Cheers! Yeh they are spot welded on. I had to drill the spot welds out. Then I bolted the new one on (made working on the engine bay so much more easy).

Updates soon! :)

Yeah certainly was! Did all the repair, prep, polish and refit on the drive! :) I hired a spray booth out to paint it. Even though I'm a trainee painter :) / tea boy :( at a body shop the boss wont let anyone in at the weekends! Bit shit! Would have loved to be ready for GTI but I'm a mile off... need to pull my finger out!

Thanks for the comments people.

Looks good dude, I'm another one loving the colour. Sometimes it takes a different colour to stand out. It certainly is a nice choice.

Respect for doing it all by yourself too.

So nice, The picutre off the bay with the 1.0 cover on it, Did you fit a golf elbow as your pancake it not there?
