Scared for Winter?!

Featured Replies

1 tip I've always used and with the hills I've got to go down has yet to fail me. when going down it apply the handbrake enough to cause some brake drag (not enough to lock the wheels) and it stops the arse end trying to spin out, very useful if your carrying a heavy load (4 square bales in a polo ).

Just watch out for those lumps of frozen snow if they hit the braking wheels its hello ditch time regardless. and whatever you do, dont do this.....

BAIL!!!!!!!

:lol: Old news higgs - facebook that shit

I hate being the local snow plow, but i love finding an empty car park and getting the mk3 sideways lol

I'm dreading snow in the Panzerkrack, RWD+auto+6.5 tonnes doesnt sound like its gonna be too promising.

BAIL!!!!!!!

What idiots... However I could watch people floundering around on ice for hours on end.

Scared for winter?

I look forward to it.

My daily just now is an E36 BMW 318is and I've just shelled out on a set of winter wheels and tyres (Michelin Alpines at that!)

So come on snow...do your worst!!!

Temptation to fit some winter tyres to my 16x6.5s is growing, however I'm pretty intrigued to test out my uniroyal rainsport 2s on my 18x8s w/ 4wd first

Youd fucking love to go over to Sochi for the 2014 winter paralympics then.

Dont want to incite a panic........

especially as the papers already are.

Was wondering why everyone was buying Anti-freeze at the motorfactors today.

Bring it on snow! I'm ready for you. My MK3 went through last winter fine. Didnt skid off the road Only got stuck twice, but got the car moving without getting out. Driving up an down hills around all these new cars which were stuck. The MK3 will be even better this year as i actually have some tread on the inside of my front tyres

-20°C? I'm not worried, I've got one of these bad boys.

Time for me to stop refilling the van's coolant then.

My Nankangs will be fine, though i'm now in a desperate bid to get the MK2 on the road before the snow (haven't touched it for months, and don't get a spare hour to do so these days).

Fucking LOL @ spending a fortune on winter tyres - then putting them on a BMW!

You'd have been better off running a cheap fwd car for the winter..

Oh man up, it's winter all the time in Scotland and we are surviving.

Best comment.

Actually Mikey this will be my second winter with a BMW with snow tyres.

The last time was 2009 and I never got stuck once, they are so controllable in the snow.

Yes you do get mega drifts on the go but its all part of the fun.

nankangs are epic fail.

I'm sorted for the winter, have just bought a suzuki jimny for snow fun and games!

nankangs are epic fail.

Depends, i chose them specifically for their lack of grip, and was disappointed that they grip better than both the Falkens or GTradials i've used before.

And thanks to my love of slippy driving antics, my skills in the snow are well honed, reflected in me never having problems getting about in such conditions.
