Matt's Mk3 Spi

Featured Replies

Just purchased this little polo for a fine sum..need some bodywork doing too it, and a few bits sorting beofre i can start really putting my mark on it!

Spec:

Engine: 1.3spi

Brakes: Black Diamond Drilled & Green Stuff Pads

Box: 5 Speed

Suspension: On springs but i dont know which ones..

Wheels: Gay standard steels which need to go and die so i can buy some sexy dish!

Interior: Pretty tatty atm.

Colour: Tornado Red.. more pink than anything

My plans are to first of all get the cars mechanical structure sorted, with new bushes, top mounts, new cv-boot, new exhaust paid for just not fitted, ARB blocks and maybe a stage 3 subframe.

While I'm trying to do all that the pain is getting sorted bit by bit, i need to get 2 new front wings and sort out a few car park dinks. But for a 20 year old car which was first born in Swansea it has seen the time well!

I Shall try to keep you updated with phots, cause i know everybody is a fan of photos, including me!

So i picked the car up a week ago, and i have found that the CV-Boot has decided to split, so I'm in the process of doing that, and the person that owned it before had changed the disks and pads on the drivers side and disks on the passenger side but decided not to do the pads.. "i ran out of time" according to the old owner. He had tried to change them put hacked the top caliper carrier bolt to a extent that i got really angry and drilled the fucker out. But the nice people at VW Audi Spares in Wolverhampton where really nice and decided to give me 4 new bolts..free of charge! woo! So all the pads and disks are pretty spanking upfront, Just need some new shoes for the back.

I shall upload pictures when i find the cable for my camera which i have a feeling is in Ibiza :(

Finally found my camera cable..lol.

In the last few days i have been trying to find Tornado Red is rolled out of the factory with, but its coming along. With the help of B-Davey and a few others we used a Polising DA with G6 all over the car, then Super Res Polish and its starting to show its colour from the pink she was before!

Also i had a wired dream to have a silly and mad exhaust for the hell of it becuase mine was hanging off..so i went abit over the top so to say.

Anyway a few pictures so far of how the paint looks now really.

Back after spraying the badges Matt Black and ditching the wiper and motor.

My crazy exhaust, which may not stay for long really! I like it,but I'm bound to get some stick for it! :paranoid:

Thats all i've got for the moment, I've also stripped out the rear to clean up the bench and stich them back up (well my nan is) and cleaning all the shit from inside, cause a previos owner either loved firtrees and was a tree...

All Comments Welcome, good & bad.

Well they thought it was unsafe, until they tried moving tje hangers, which are very very secure! So not much more they can say, plus the tip is not as sharp as it was. Pm me about the GT kit

Dont think its for sale anymore, bloke with the bits i wanted hasnt properly gotten back to me so i think its off.

Cant be bothered with being messed around lol

Just a quick update really..

Got my pressed plates from GTi, then on the monday some twats decided it would be comical to rip it off my front bumper! Wankers!

Also today finally got rid of the shitty pancake and went with the Mk3 Golf Air Inlet Elbow with a K&N Air Filter with a cold air-feed running from the grille. Seems to be running alot smoother with a proper filter on, not a eBay job. Plus fitted a Oil Breather Filter.

My next job is to replace at HT leads and plugs, dizzy and try to sort out the fuel consumption cause its rubbish atm!

Anyone got any ideas of common fuel running problems with the Mk3?

All comments grateful guys..

Cheers.
