1.3 8v G40 Exhaust Gasket Questions

Featured Replies

Alright, couple of quick questions re: exhaust gaskets

1) The standard exhaust gaskets (manifold to head) are cardboard type for a mk3 polo. Do any other VAG models have these gaskets but in metal, as I could do with a metal one for the Turbo. I'm guessing a small block Mk4 but dont fancy ordering one just to see if it is

2) downpipe gaskets?! Does noone sell these anymore? TPS/VW Only job? Tried ECP, GSF & BMS to no avail.

Ta muchly

Edit - Seen this, may be similar for the metal mani to head gasket

Cheers man ill phone tps today.

I might run doubles but would pre metal. Adam said he had one I'm his garage lying around n he fitted it to his red one so they are around :-)

proper VW ones are a sort of composite material which contains metal. Much better than the cardboard ones from GSF/ECP etc...

mk4 polo ones are metal, but much thinner

Buy proper VAG ones for the G40. If your manifold is bent/warped, then stack them.
