Any Clio owners known anywhere?

Featured Replies

Anyone know how to turn the main beams on a late 90s one?

I know the symbol's on the left stalk, seems obvious, but i can only do flash - can't get it to stay on. If anyone knows anyone with one of these facelifted 90s cars (or even any 90s one) could they please ask?

I thought they were all standardized, maybe they are and i suspect a broken switch.

Cheers..

thought they were push away to activate.

The passat is like that, pain in the arse as i keep forgetting and end up either just flashing or dazzling the unlucky guy coming the other way.

Yeah they tend to be push forward if pulling the stalk is flash only...

I thought that, but it won't go forward.

hmm, i think you turn something somewhere, ex gf''s borther had one, until the head went xD

my rt had a push stalk and If i remember rightly, it was the right stalk!

twist the stalk to get them to come on and pull for high beams iirc.. if we're talking about the same shape clio that is.

Twist for dipped, yeah. Pull for mains, yeah. Thing is, there's no click-lock, mains are flash only.

You lot are fucking useless!

But as we're talking about a french car, i'll let you all off ;)

I've had a search on the interweb and discovered it's a weak point on these cars, the switch breaks so full beam won't stay on. Seems to be exactly what's happened here.

My only problem now is sourcing one, as it's a facelift car that only ran a couple of years, the pre-facelift had a dash-mounted switch. As the car's in Devon i can't compare to other Renaults so i'm gonna have as much fun finding one of these beauties as i did finding immaculate unused NOS chrome MK1 Polo centre caps with clips, on equally perfect NOS unused Coupe S steel wheels boxed.. Ahem.
