hello everybody I'm wanting a GTI lupo but insurance is not having it so I've settled for a 1.4 100bhp model, 25bhp more than my 6n2 polo :), just wanting to no if i buy a gti front bumper and gti wings will i need sills or will it go? thanks

why would you need gti wings? AFAIK you would need bumper inc grilles, headlights, skirts, rear bumper, spoiler etc.....

and all the money you'd spend making it look like a GTi could be put towards actually insuring a real GTi!

Its alot of work and alot of pennies, its not just a chase of taking shit from a gti an bobbing them on things need cutting and welding ect, easiest thing to do if your just after the gti look is get a "reiger" body kit.

because the front bumper does not fit with normal wings u need gti wings and its like 6Thousand to insure a gti and 1500 for a 1.4 sport lol, that kit looks nothing like the gti

Just don't bother.

Buy the sport and keep it that way for a year then buy a GTI when you can afford to insure one. Getting all the parts (having them painted if not in the right colour), getting the xenon headlamps from the GTI and all the jazz to go with it. Not worth it. The sport looks cool for what it is anyway. You will never see your money back when it comes to selling the sport. Waste of money creating something not really better/worth more than a tidy standard-ish sport.

You'll just get owned by cars that think you have a GTI.....Lame.

None of the front end fits without the wings. The wings are aluminium and usually big dollar due to the material. Then when it comes to fitting the wings you will find a problem as they don't line up with the sills on a none GTI model.

Just a silly amount of work for very little gain.

Best bet is buy a GTI when you can afford one and until then stick with the sport. They look smart anyway if you buy one in a nice colour.

again with those mods and declaring them on your insurance you may as well buy a GTI and be done with it to be fair!

If it was me..

I would keep the standard lupo and put in an 1.6 gti engine in, and brakes, springs etc.

Then scally boyracers will have a supprise, but your car will be discreet too!

I suprised a 2.2 vectra the other day in my discreet 6n2 gti. Best feeling ever

Well your not really saving any thing because your paying for some thing that doesn't exist, at least if your folking out 6k to insure a gti you are getting some thing for your money because you are actually have insurance rather than paying x mount for what is effectively just a void cover note

Apparantly the rear quarters are different as well because the arches are flared more than the base models. So it'd look odd if you fitted the rest of the GTI stuff and left the rear arches out...

Yes, rear arches are totally different, wider and more rounded. Add up the cost of all the work, plus a respray, which you will need, and the cost of the car originally and it will be more than it costs to insure the GTI. My verdict: Pointless exercise. Just wait until you can insure the GTI rather than wasting money on this car that could be saved to insure the GTI.

Lupo GTi looks dogshit anyway, sports look 100000% better.

I'd just leave it as is....if you really wanna do something, put the gti spoiler on or something but i really wouldnt bother with a whole replica.

And like has been said, you just get people thinking you've got a gti and own you. I had that when i had my 1.1 mk3 fiesta.....it had an rs turbo body kit on and so naturally i had arseholes trying to race me all time. It's pretty shit.

I've had both and it would be a huge job if possible at all. The lupo gti is a top looking car that handles superb. Lupo sports are pretty decent but look great kept as standard.
