Ahhhhh so this is your's I spent ages admiring the small block turbo at ed38 . What's the spec on them wheels btw ?

i like this alot!!! i saw it a tatton park last year, by far the best car there.

very nice.

I wanted a mk1 rocco but realised i needed to cut my teeth on something a little newer.

Loving your work.

The wheels are Mad'in 8Jx13 but I've since sold them to make another set of staggered 9J with 2 and 3 inch dishes. I'm needing the skills of Arun to make them fit

Tatton was its first show! This years made me feel guilty as I've done nothing more than take it to bits really  .

I have alot time for all your creations. looking forward to seeing the polo sparking down the road!

Thanks guys. I will start a thread soon when it gets moving again but it now looks like this. Soon to get a cash injection from breaking the Golf.

You need to get some of the shit I've just been using on my blue mk1, absolutely fucking awesome stuff. Looks just like original VW sealer too!

Epoxy mastic + Etch primer + 3M sprayable sealer = No more rust for Winston

I must say it does look the don shit!!!! <3

I will invest as I get more flush from the breaking!

It's not cheap stuff but I'd imagine its better than VWs original sealer and thats good for 30 years  I have the gun needed to apply the stuff which you're welcome to borrow, saves having to buy one yourself.

Whats the chassis like rearward of the floorpan?

Legend!!

Its abit pitted around the axel mount area but solid and the rear panel and sills have got abit of rust and holes to reapir. I will show next time your down 100%. it was such a dumb ass idea to take my own advice to put parts under it and fill it full of parts. haha

Can't remember where I found these pics, but they might give you some inspiration. Twin carbs are miles cooler than bike carbs, just a shame they're not as good.

Just realised, it was Randombadgers thread!

They're not as advanced no, but the fact there cool as fuck and sound even better more than make up for it.

Cheers for the pictures. got a link to his thread? I'm in 2 minds whether to cut out the rain tray but its looking like I need too tbh.

I think bike carbs are abit to modern looking, the webers are in keeping with the oldskool engine.

I'm trying to track down some engine bay pictures of this Mk1 <3

epoxy mastic is a 2 part paint, cant be bought from http://rust.co.uk/

Sorry yes, as Saf said - Epoxy Mastic from the website he mentioned. Etch primer from wherever, even Halfords  And 3M stuff from Colourtone. Could have a look at the 3M website to find a stockist nearer you though

Epoxy comes in a tin, can either be sprayed on with a Schutz type gun or brushed on.

Etch primer can either be single pack aerosol or two pack in a tin.

And 3M stuff comes in individual self contained sealed bags. They need a specific 3M gun to apply it.
