FFS I've had 2 T25's and always fancied a Crewcab, If I'd of seen that I would never have got one!

Depends on the speed that hit, I watched fifth gear the other day and they did that to a modern ford focus at 120mph, nothing left of it!

Thats terrifying  . Dad has one so i'm in one of these regularly. Anyone know what speed that was at?

Sorry to shock just thought it was pretty mind bending to watch.

The thing is the rear was fully weight loaded and crashed into a solid concrete wall at 60mph. Apparently they were testing the facility and not the vehicle.

Still pretty damn scary to watch.

That the red chinese-built one? Yeah it was set-up to do that (bed full of bricks, motorway speed), still shocking though.

Saw it a few years ago on iphone, current phone isn't set up to view the toob so i can't see the links - will check out the Focus when i get home though!

Yeah its the red one Mikey. Wasn't just spreading fear, its just amazing to watch.

 Feel sorry for the ambulance Crew that have to Deal with crashes like that :/

The focus crash is just plain horrific, and like it says at the end, I hope it makes people think twice before putting your foot down...

i wont be going 120mph near any brick walls lol but wont stop me putting my foot down

*Swallows hard

Apparently nearly all vans when loaded can really do in their occupants in a crash.

My paramedic friend was horrified by the mess made when a valeters transit hit a wall. The water tank came through the partition and killed him.

Lets try and keep info like that off boards m'kay

^haha

F*ck that

passat b5 one looks worse than it is, front end the roof and a-pillar bend a fair bit, side on the damage is pretty minimal.

Should try watching the Anti-terrorist bollard testing videos, one the lorry cab practically implodes on itself.

This should restore some faith in the old bus..

And if you thought the silly test Focus was bad, how about this as a proper test at a legitimate speed..?

Still gonna hurt. Lol

Watching it front end that other car was pretty impressive. I doubt the occupents of the car would have got away as lightly.

Search for VW mk2 Polo crash test.

Not going to walk away from that.

With the Mk2 your crumple zone is your driving skill and your safety cell is dumb luck.

this is what I used to drive

That Focus crash test is TOTALLY pointless. Oh my god.

Euro NCAP crash into a deformable barrier at 40mph to simulate a head on crash at city speeds. Combined speed of 40mph from two cars slowing from 30ish before they collide.

To hit an immovable object at 120mph you'd have to be blind, driving a car with no brakes, or going faster than 120mph to be doing that when you hit the wall. How many people really do that regularly?

Fifth Gear is always showing stuff like that but it's got no value beyond morbid curiosity.

This one's much more relevant - crashing a car into a tree at different speeds that drivers might actually be doing on a country lane. Still shocking!

^^ Two Foci head-on, each doing 60 on an A-road equals 120 singular impact against a mirror or concrete wall.

Against an on-coming 38ton lorry, the Focus would fare worse off than that if both vehicles were doing just a third of the speed - rear seat passengers crushed dead at 20mph. I think that's relevant, but far from their test so i'd like to see them do that instead.

Two cars hitting head on doesn't result in a worse impact than running into a wall at the same speed. Although the combined speed is 120mph, each car absorbs about half the energy from the impact. You're still pretty fucked though.

yes the force of the impact is shared equally between both cars.
