Spares or Repaires!!!

1998 999c (1L) AER 6n Polo (Mk4) on 140k. Car wont start, i have been told it may be the headgasket but haven't had the money to get it looked at or fixed. Pick my new car up soon so need this gone.

Good points:

- Lowered on Raceland coilovers (15k miles old - receipt to prove)

- Multispoke 15" Fox Racing wheels with 4 pretty decent tyres.

- CD player

- 6 x 9's in parcel shelf

- Debadged grille

- Debadged rear

- De-bump stripped

- Stubby aeriel

- Sevice history since my ownership (wheel bearings, centre box etc)

Bad points:

- Wont start (maybe headgasket) so will have to be towed/trailored away)

- MOT runs out next month

- Only a few months tax left

- Could do with a new rear bumper as small cracks on passenger side

Ideal for someone looking for a project, someones first car (if fixed). As stated, will have to be towed/trailored away).

Sounds unlikely, it'd start and overheat if your thermostat was stuck shut. £100?

it used to start and cut out after around 5-10 minutes.

and £100 is a bit too low sorry man, as i could just sell the suspension/wheels alone for £100. Thanks though!

He's right you know, if it was your thermostat, it would start up, run and eventually overheat and boil through any coolant that is left.

I'd say you shouldn't take an offer lower than 350.

Yeah sounds about right, although the coolant stayed perfect level and the car also doesnt start :/
