Then stick with VW and act fast then, cheap small cars aren't staying so cheap these days.

it says in quite a few places that old shape beetles are cheap to insure?

my sister says i could borrow her beetle for a year or two cos she wants a p.t cruiser (god knows why) so i might see how much that is to insure

OKAY, after an hour long phone call to admiral, i am insured for £1340.... a damn sight better than 3 and a half thousand i was being quoted before!

So it says, certainly wasn't the kind of car I got the cheapest quotes on.

what about a 1.0 mk3 coupe? easy enough to pick up cheap and the insurance will be about 47p.

i'm 18, been driving a year on a classic policy so i didn't get a no claims bonus, but i did get a document to say i hadn't claimed.. =S

I got it on admiral.. my original quote was without mods and was 1560 or something like that, then we called up again to likebuy it, and we put my mum on as a named driver (been driving for about 30 years and never even got done for speeding or got a parking ticket) and that took it down to like 1100, then we sort of told them about the modifications which took it up to 1340.

and that price includes breakdown cover and a coutesy car for 21 days, should i need one.. so pretty good!

Can't fault admiral, especially their breakdown cover, too half an hour to get to me when I broke down, then took me the full 70 miles back to my house, nationwide recovery to anywhere, well worth it!
