fitted fine. and as far as i know they are still properly attached to the car lol

15k miles and not a problem.

fronts have about 10mm of thread on them (still to go down), but i value my sump too much. rear has about 30-40mm. when i fitted them i put them all to bout 10mm from lowest thread setting and the rear arches swallowed the wheels past the top of the rim, if that makes sense (as in the alloy metal was up in the arch).

parts are such an arse for these cars.

have to do so much looking around and checking.

bought plenty of bits, and then had to mod them or sell them on as they dont fit.

Valver interior, lows, G60 steels, seat ibiza GTI front splitter (thats a must). Done and done.

Love the colour.

Also, on the rear bumper of a 6k, does anyone know if its a splitter on the bottom? Or isit all one bumper? As on the black bottom part theres a small section missing in the middle. Looks like there was once a tow bar...Cheers all

Don't say i don't help :-) Looks like the right colour and at a good price too. Easy to change yourself. Just put your tow eye cover on it and fit it and you're laughing.

Not too much dude. To be honest if its running nice i would just change the oil and filters and that you could do yourself quite simply.

Its rare for parts you want to turn up in the right colour at a good price but servicing is important.

Yeah with my 6n i service it myself but with this one its got so many receipts that i kinda want to keep them going and show its been well looked after!

Same with the polo estate that I had. It had full service history up until I owned it but then serviced it myself. What I do is buy all the oil, filters etc from VW (or similar but personally always VW) and get the dated, itemised reciept and put that in the service book and then fill out the service schedule myself with the date and the milage. Yes there is no reciept for a garage doing the work and there is no stamp but there is the reciept there to back up what you have written down. Nothing hard about changing the oil and filters so as long as it is done and done correctly it doesn't really matter who did it.

Only update i have on the polo so far is a stubby aerial as money is tight as i still have my 6n, paid £300 deposit on the insurance and picking the car up itself!

Yeah I would agree they are an arse to find bits for. Have a a pile of stuff to go on mine but it mostly all labelled as being for Cordoba's or from scrapped Cordoba's on eBay.

Found a nice little boot lips spoiler for mine that I haven't ordered yet but it for a totally different car.

I have a thread for my two (I have an estate and a saloon), think there are a few saloons on here but not many build threads about from what I have seen.

cordoba boot spoilers go on nicely, but not my thang... ordered a cordoba splitter from seat and the one i recieved was different, but still bigger and better than vw one. looking for an ibiza gti one now.

rear n/s light looks better when its german (left hand drive), means you have a red reverse light but the symmetry looks bang on!

I have been offered a cordoba spolier in grey, but i think i may just leave it without one.

The wheels on that black 6k with the blue are perfect, but ideally i may go for some g60 steels as pointe (cheaper...haha)

Since "dubmax" 's black one, i really wanted one! Plans will be slow, as I'm broke as hell haha. Not too many around either.

I think the only thing I don't like about the saloons is that the headlights look two sizes two too small for the car! And you cant fit the bigger 6n2 one which would look much better.

Not quite.

They aren't a direct fit. The front clips on most of the way apart from some bits on the inside of the front bumper that foul on it. You cut away any bits that foul with a hacksaw and then it clips in all along the front. The tabs that clip in on the corners have to be shortened. Easy with a bit of trial and error. Then the sides are completely different as the original splitter tabs are vertical and the ones on the seat splitter are at a right angle. I cut the tabs off the seat splitter leaving a 6mm lip. I then used a very very thin drill bit to drill through the lip and the bumper mounting lip (its very thin) and then just put self tapping screws through the two to hold it together. Drilling the pilot holes makes it much easier. By the end mine fit like factory. Once fitted it looks perfect.

Sounds like a lot of work but it took me about an hour with no guide. You see what you have to do once you have removed the bumper and old splitter and offered the new one up.

Car just came back from the service, and seems to run much better!

Although was told there is a slight missfire from cylinder 4 :(

Yeah don't hand over any money until they can tell you exactly what the problem is. They might just chuck a set of leads on and charge you £150 for the privelage.

Was the service just oil and filters? If so change the plugs and leads etc.

That would probably be geodaryl. I'm getting some from PhilJ when I get paid although mine will be for the variant. Anything listed as being for the 6k Ibiza / Cordoba chassis should fit.
