I have a polo saloon and I meet a great guy with a red saloon at the clubpolo show

What dash you got in yours?

Is he on here do you know?

i got the older style dash, here's a link (sorry about the size, its off google):

Cars been serviced etc, now looking for some coilovers. Having trouble sourcing some,

would be a great help if someone could post a link with definite fits? thanks!

That would probably be geodaryl. I'm getting some from PhilJ when I get paid although mine will be for the variant. Anything listed as being for the 6k Ibiza / Cordoba chassis should fit.

Cheers man! i just ordered some from PhilJ (real helpful person!).

Cant wait for them to arrive now!

How easy is it to find saloon specific parts?

  • Author

Very hard! haha.

Went to a few scrap yards today, no saloons.

Ebay dont really have many parts, especially none for modding (unless I'm being blind!).

These are off a cordoba!

Not that hard to find the parts really. Just buy them for the same chasis seat ibiza/cordoba. They are the same setup really.

That red one looks awesome now. Shame they didn't come with a faster one from factory as it looks like it might have some real power in there.

Make sure you get your four wheel aligment done after the coilies i didn't for a bit and it was awful to drive.

Ah yeah cordoba parts etc. But i thought the question was specifically about saloon parts.

The red one is very nice, and totally agree about the factory faster one. Mines 75bhp which is painfully slow!

Yeah i will, as it feels like a "boat" around corners so cant imagine what it would be like with terrible aligment. Thanks alot for the advice!

I've got two saloons in a local breakers/scrap yard so if you need any bits or pieces let me know. (One is white, the other black).

Hum get pics up and lets see how low you got it.

Unofrtunately i've been working every day... day and night time for the last week, and right up untill christmas!

My MOT is up next month, so i think i may MOT it soon then stick em on.

Wont be any updates untill Christmas time I'm afraid :(

Can't wait to see another 6k on this forum, barely any on here...

d.

Lol I've cheated and got a 6k and 6kv. Loon is giving up some parts for the variant though. I'm fed up of driving a car with broken headlights and a wonky grille!

FINALLY!!!!!! Some actual updates, have taken well over a year but actually did some stuff today,

firstly bought a subwoofer which doesn't take up much room with this boot:

Then came along a stubby aerial from my old 6n (needs a quick spray as it's fading a little):

Then bought a bonnet bra (from autobra although doesn't fit as well as I would like it too):

Then came the coilovers, which make a huge difference (the rear needs lifting up as the exhaust is banging and looks a bit weird):

Then came debadging the boot (only managed one side as the paint has faded around the old badge and didn't polish too well either):

and here are a few different angles of the car today:

rust needs sorting on this arch:

Happy with how it looks now, still need to adjust the suspension to make it all level and stop the exhaust banging but I've lost my C spanner so need to wait till new one arrives.

Future plans include cupra splitter, new number plates as these ones are extremely tatty, debading the "polo" badge, new rear bumper as there's a hole from where the towing bar once was, getting rid of the rust and scratches around the car. Also not sure of what wheels as of yet but need something a little bigger than 14"

Think I still have mine around somewhere, will have a look and see.

I ended up putting 16" Cades Eros stealth's on mine but they needed spacing out as they are wide enough to rub on the coilies. Mind you, the old 14" VW alloys did as well at the back for some reason!

Probably going to be the last pic ever of it, its a bit smashed up now after I had a crash this morning!

Aw no way, what happened? Hope no one was hurt!

I lifted the back up, so it's sitting level at the moment and looks so much better. Currently have a huge oil leak which is booked into the garage for Wednesday to see what's wrong.

Weird that the 14" wheels rubbed haha, mine has no rubbing at all! I'm thinking of buying some 15"s!
