Fisher's White Cl

Featured Replies

Been on here a while now, on my second Polo. Got rid of the awful 1L 6n2, and replaced it with my little baby.

She's a 1.3L CL coupe. Had 53k miles when I bought her, was very nice and clean with just a few tiny rust spots here and there, but nothing major.

When I picked her up:

One with my buddy's Micra:

As soon as I got my hands on a toffee wheel, I got on with the modding:

Then a few weeks of trouble free motoring, completely fell in love with the car. Then one VERY rainy day in the centre of Cambridge, some silly arse with ABS decided to slam their brakes on infront of me. Immediately the 4.5j steelies locked up and bang.

Was not a happy bunny:

Even though I didn't pay much for the car, I didn't think for one second about sending her to the grave, so this happened:

Got my hands on some parts pretty cheap, got the new slam panel welded on, then did the rest of the re manteling myself:

Then I got back to saving for some new parts. After a few weeks I ordered myself a Phil J kit and set about fitting it with a legend of a guy from the local dub meet. Despite him being very knowledgable, and knew just what he was doing, after a every nut and bolt that could possibly have been a pain, was. And the front end took us a hooole day. So I drove round for a couple days like this:

Then when he was free again, we set about doing the rears. Which took a whole half an hour to do! Typical!

Then I got a bargain set of RZ's of a friend for £60. Stripped, and resprayed them black, and bought 4 new falken tyres. Had a few scrubbing issues at the rear so raised the rear a notch. Now I'm pretty happy with how she's looking :)

On the way to Edition:

(Was accelerating at that point, doesn't have reverse rake!)

And as I fancied writing this thread today, I thought I'd go out and take some fresh snaps. So this is how she's looking now :) With the addition of some pressed plates!

UPDATE

Not updated in a while. Been a little busy. Got some MK2 Coupe S seats off a friend, then I got some black door cards from Liz.

Before:

After:

Inside. (can see the seats) Not a great picture:

And I got an Ashley 4branch manifold, then had a stainless system custom made. Straight 2" pipe from manifold to back box, then a little upswept pipe. Now it's bedded in it sounds pretty sweet:

And a cheeky video (not sure it'll work)

th_IMG_0122.jpg

Bit watery as I had jut washed the car!

Future plans include:

Stainless exhaust with some crazy tail pipe (possibly side exit :ninja: ) CHECK

New interior (on the hunt if anyone is selling a genesis/gt interior) CHECK

Underseal before the winter sets in.

Respray next year in the same colour (step brother is a sprayer :D cheapy cheapy)

Eventually would like to either tune the current engine, or do a G40 conversion :) )

Thanks for reading, comments welcome!

Cheers. Yeah its a bit marmite. I'm not sure yet either. I'd love to smooth the recess like someone has done on here but wouldn't know how to go about doing it!

Nobody likes me

Everybody hates me

Just because I eat worms

Short fat hairy ones

Long tall skinny ones

See how the little ones squirm

Bite all their heads off

Suck all the juice out

Throw the empty skins away

Nobody Likes me

Everybody hates me

Cos I eat worms all day

Clean! Exactly how I want mine just need to find someone who can change suspension. Cause I have no clue

Cheers mate! The rears are a piece of piss. The fronts are a different story. I think there's a how to in the faq section. There's probably a friendly dubber around you area that would be willing to help you out for a crate of beer. A mechanic will probably charge the earth just for the man hours. If you do it yourself, soak all the nuts n bolts your gonna remove with wd40 a few days before. I had a lot of trouble with seized bolts

Haha I was bored. No one really liked the plate at the start but a couple of friends have said its growing on them. I just wish it was a bit smaller. Yeah the front end doesn't line up as well since the crash. I'll be getting some straight wings and a bonnet before the respray so should all be good after that :)

Found a garage who will fit fronts and rears for 100 quid so think i'm just gonna pay them haha.

Someone was behind me last night in town in a dark blue MK3. When I bought mine I'd only seen 1 or 2 round here, now there's loads. There's another white one with black wheels like mine so you may have seen that too!

UPDATE!

Done a couple things since the last update. Vinyled a wing just because it has a few rust scabs that depressed me, so it's a quick fix whilst I wait for the spray shed to be free! Bit marmite but it's only temporary.

Also managed to bag myself some ATS Classics for a pretty good price. So chucked those on, a 3 hour cleaning, polishing, waxing session yesterday ready for DC12 today. Ill let the pictures do the talking!

Coilovers next, then respray.

I also have a mint Astrali steering wheel for £20 from my local antique shop! Just getting a plate made up for the boss I have then that'll be fitted.

Comments welcome :)
