6n2 'twitchy'

Featured Replies

Just after picking some folks brains.

I've a 1.4 s 6n2, all standard, only done 56k miles,

thing is the car feels a bit 'twitchy', prob best way to describe it.

Just doesnt feel like i could change direction quicky.

Is this normal (I've just come from a Lupo Sport which was lowered).

Would lowered springs help sort this? I dont mind lowering, but not to low as i use the car for my work,

Any other mods that will help make it feel abit more planted?

Cheers

Shawn

Anti roll bars, decent coil over suspension or decent shocks and springs, poly bushes... Just read my build thread it's all covered in there haha.

Definitely agree with the shocks. My GTI kept feeling like the rear wanted to jump out on every corner or roundabout even at low speed. Replaced the shocks and it was fine......... still could do with lowering though 8-)

Thanks for that.

Coilovers will be too low i think, i'm a support worker and have to take service users out and about and they are not small lads! lol

It does have that stepping out at the back feel.

I love the rear stepping out, its good fun but saying that if you prefer the planted feeling then new suspension is the way forward.

Rear stepping out on my old BMW e30 and Fiat X19 was fantastic, but the Polo.... :?

Coilovers are adjustable so you set them to the height you want/need them at.
