I wanted to know if front door cards are available with a space for speakers? I had seen some people mod the door cards but it looks a lot of work!

You could at one point get door pod ones.

Or find some Votex ones they sit/lock in at the front of the door pocket.

What are these Votex ones you speak of? I have Audioscapes and i love them. Would like to see pics if you have them.

My setup:

Audioscape are pretty much the only known ones that you can get without modifying what you have. There is nothing that is plug and play for the 86C cars.

So you either make your own or buy some audioscape ones. Audioscape no longer make these iirc and when they do come up second hand they usually command over £100.

So basically, make your own :-)

Ah shame I would of bought some straight away, although I spose I can cut a hole for the speaker in the plastic and door card and then just cover the sides with plastic!

Just buy some spare cards and get to work. Won't be that hard and you get the benefit of feeling proud when they are finished. Bit of graft never hurt anyone. They'll also cost you nothing in comparison to the audioscape ones.

I would build a frame (speaker ring, wooden blocks or similar) and mock it up with the speaker and secure to the card making sure it works with the door closing/doesn't foul anything. Then attach material, fibreglass over material, sand, skim of filler, sand smooth, then paint.

Votex were a tuning company.

And they made polo bodykits and various accessories.

Bet they are harder to find than the audioscape ones. Never even seen them before. The fact they are sat on a left hooker doesn't bode well either.

I know what you mean. Vinyl wrapping if you could find some in a similar style would be your only option i think. Nothing is going to come out of tin like that. The only other thing with paint is that it would look tired pretty quick. I would wrap if in vinyl but it really depends on what shape you end up with. Anything with too many curves could prove to be a dog to wrap.

you would be surprised how cheap it is to have an interior place to cover them :)

Funny how sometimes you never think of a simple way round a problem until someone slaps you in the face with it.

What was said about getting a professional to cover them to a good standard. You could make use of the offcuts of material they will probably have too. Better than some doorpods that are wrinkly as a nutsack.

I have some funked doorcards and might do a bit of a test with them and see how it goes.
