Hope to get it done ASAP as fed up of looking at it like that. Need to get some quotes. Wouldn't mind a paintless dent remover coming and pulling the dent out before it visits the body shop, so then I know it wont just be a load of filler.

Dent is still there annoyingly . Got the cash ready and a place has quoted me a very good price to fix it. But, theres always a but. The sill on this side has been repaired badly in the traditional place before and I got repairing it properly included in the price as would be stupid to leave it. I found a place that does coupe sills, went to order one and it was out of stock, no idea when it will be back in. Found another place that does the Klokkerholm panels and they haven't got stock either, but are getting me a price so will order it in. When it arrives I will book in to the body shop.

Got a few new things for it just to keep the thread going:

New wheels for winter as the tyres on my current wheels wont last me much longer and are a very expensive size to replace (185 50 14). 13" BBS RA's, the third set of RA's I own:

They are a bit ropey looking at the moment but are straight and most of the hard work has already been done fixing kerbing. They are in primer ready for whatever paint I choose and some tyres.

Buying these, some paint and 4 decent branded part worn tyres is cheaper than buying 2 new tyres for my 14" RA's, so it was a no brainer really

Its coming up to being due an oil change so I will be doing a service at the same time. Already changed the ignition leads for some good quality ones. Only good quality (German made) parts will do.

Beru dizzy cap and rotor arm. Genuine VAG oil filter, that I wish i'd never got as if i'd just ordered it online like everything else the polo wouldn't be damaged. And Bosch Super 4 plugs.

Well, the dent is still here. But the new sill is also finally here. So the repairs can get under way . Need to book in at the bodyshop and get it straight again. Cant seem to get hold of a decent rear bumper though. Despite replying to almost every thread where there was one available, it was either knackered or seller was unresponsive . Also got a wanted ad but nothing has come of it.

It failed its MOT on a few things and cost me nearly £200, with mates rates. Needed a few bushes, a brake pipe and exhaust was insecure as centre bracket had snapped off due to crap welding. I hadn't even noticed this so came as a surprise, or not, due to previous problems. Starting to tire of this car now and I know I have said it before, it might be time for a change of scenery. I will certaintly miss it if it goes, mainly because of the rarity and the impact it has being such an awesome colour. Just wish I had the space to store it in the dry for a few years so I could come back to it. I'm off to look at a car this weekend and if I buy it, my time in the polo scene will be over before the years out.

I was sad when my previous 2 polo's went. I think I will be a bit more sad when this goes though. So much time and effort gone into making it what it is

Votex wheels will look at home on my potential new car as although I will be moving away from polo's I will be sticking with old skool dubs .

Done a bit of trouble shooting on it today. For some reason it seems to not be idling too well and its vibrating, no idea what's wrong. But this is causing a few annoying rattles/ buzzing noises. Worst of which I located as the 6n engine cover hitting on the edge of the cam cover. Spaced it off with some big washers and I think its solved it. Also had a squeal from the heater fan for a while, which comes and goes. Sprayed some WD40 into it and again this seems to have solved it, although can now smell WD constantly when the fans on. Better than a squeak though if its done its job.

You're best using a proper spray lubricant than WD40. Wd40's a degreaser, so it'll make the noise worse. Try some TF2, when it dries it leaves a thin film of teflon

Its officially the end of an era folks. Watched this drive away from me and disappear into the distance today . Goodbye M386 JOA. And Goodbye Polo's. Its good that I got near enough the price I wanted, but I am a rather sad that its gone and will miss it more than I have any car I've sold. I just hope the Golf is as good to me this was. Still have all those lovely OEM bits though, so if I do return to a Polo It will be ALMOST as awesome as this one.

Did you buy this car from the Glasgow area? Sure I remember seeing this for sale. Seller told me it was really clean if it is the same one.

Nah. Got this one in Edinburgh, very clean tho. Just rusty around the arches 

Well suppose it isn't too far from Glasgow so possibly the same one. Was months ago I saw it for sale. Was priced with a lot of scene tax added though :(
