Cheers dude. The vents serve no function other than looking nice on this :-) The colour was only available on the special edition Parade, for the last year of MK3 production. Its one of the rarest colours. I've only ever seen mine in the metal but i think theres 2 more knocking about on this forum, and thats all i know of. The parade was also available in framboise red (pink).

Time for a small update. It was a beautiful day today so i got a bit more done.

I finished trimming down the E30 bumper vents and the holes in the bumper, and got them sitting as well as i can. I then rubbed them down and primered them:

Then, as i had the bumper off, i re fitted my front number plate with new screws and caps. I also decided to see what it would look like with a red GT stripe. Pretty good i think. Its looking like a car again:

Also got hold of some more OEM extras. Some genuine Hella clear indicators. I gave them a clean up and they came up well. One has a crack in the clip, but not visible when fitted, doesnt effect it, and for what i payed it doesnt bother me that much:

Just in case your wondering whats in the box. Its a brand new german spec, left side early tail light. I had an idea of using it with an english spec right side and some red laminex. But decided in the end, that i prefer the late spec lights (see for sale section if you want it) :

Did a bit of cleaning too. Removed the rear lights and cleaned them, and the area behind them:

Also gave the lights a polish, with this cut and shine car polish i've got. Came up remarkablly well:

Next to go on will be my powdercoated items, if they ever come back, as they were supposed to be done last friday, and still aren't .Once those are back on i can fit a new backbox and replace the centre box with a straight pipe. Then its getting lowered, and some new discs and pads . Also when my black carpets turn up i will be putting them and the front seats in. Then maybe it will be wheel time. So theres alot still to do!

Yep, suspension and exhaust being done by me, as with almost everything else. And its looking highly unlikely that it'll be at the meet next weekend. As much as i'd like to make it, it wont be finished due to waiting on parts, and i haven't even found some of the things i need yet.

In a week i have to buy:

poly bushes, discs and pads, wheels and tyres, rear door cards, sub wiring/box, boot light/wiring, parcel shelf ledges, centre box welded up, rear bumper.

I have to fit (plus all the above):

Stereo, speakers, carpets, seats, all the stuff i sent to powdercoat (haven't got it yet), radiator and coolant, fuel tank, suspension, mirrors, grille.

Also have to give it a good clean and polish inside and out. So safe to say it aint happening dude!

Done a bit more this afternoon, while the sun was out :-D

A little bit more OEM added too. Swapped my sprayed badge out for this genuine black one:

I really should have spent the rest of the day on this, but ended up spraying up the door handle inserts and rear badges from my white MK3. They are now black with irridescent glitter laquer. Also started to modify a model MK4 Golf for some reason

IIRC the battery cover came from the master of MK3 OEM, Genesis GT, from this very forum last year some time.

The money you paid me didnt last long though, it was gone by the end of the show! As was most of the cash i took with me.

I only bought the one thing though at the Volksworld show, and it was this steering wheel :

Its a Hella/ MOMO leather steering wheel. Super rare and very period accessory. As you can see it can either have the leather centre, or just a horn push, if you remove the metal ring. These were made by MOMO for Hella, in the late 80's and 90's. This was made in 1992, so is period to the car and IMO super cool. Its near mint too. It was alot of money at £100 (the most expensive thing i've bought for this project) It was worth it, considering it came with a boss, and a brand new OMP, which is common, costs more .

Done a bit more detailing too. I cleaned up the cam cover bolts:

After. Smoothed lettering, sanded and polished bolts. Satin black washers:

Also changed the filter in the heater dials. Put the coloured aceatate behind the factory filter for a cleaner look:

Stay tuned for the next installment! May be a short while though, as i have the MOT for my white one to deal with, and its going to fail i think
