My brake porn!

Featured Replies

Well I fetched my brakes today and they are brand new TAROX B30 - 6pots. The first set in the UK

OEM brake disc, caliper and carrier weigh-in = 13.5kg

Mmmmmmmmmmmmmm shiny new things = 12.5kg, so bigger AND lighter = deep joy too.

First impressions are excellent. The brake feel is superb and very progressive. There is more "feel" to the brakes and when used in anger are phenomenal at retarding speed. I'd even go as far as to say that they are better than the 10 pot TAROX's I had on the Golf - but the Golf is a heavier car. I can thoroughly recommend these if you have the money and there aren't many brake sets that look this good either.

These were behind 19" alloys, so actually don't look huge and were 330mm discs.

on a mk2? You'd be doing a forward roll

hurdy, name rings a bell and i recognise your mk5. From southyorkshire?

bigger brakes or not, you will never forward roll a mk2, no one has the strength the press the unassisted brakes hard enough.
