Hey my name is Ben and I am from West Sussex. I brought the with tax , mot. Its a 1.4 8v 1999 , i brought it dirt cheap from a mate its recently just had a new gear box put in about 5k miles ago. it has a bit of rust on the rear qauter panel but this is getting sorted soon. also brought it with coilovers and polo sport wheels ( i think that's what they are ) the wheels will be coming off soon once iv 'made up my mind on what i want was thinking something like Rota zero's , Ats classics , banded steelies.

This is not my first car but my first VW so I'm looking forward to getting stuck in. I have a few ideas about which way i want to go about this car i either want to go for the clean flush look or the dub - i - dont - give - a - shit look :p either way this is a list of whats on the car and what i have ordered for the car and a few photos.

Have a set of pressed plates + spare front drivers arch all arch's are rolled :p

OMP - Deep dish steering wheel + boss kit

Coilovers - think there JOM ones. ( helps are out but rides not all the way down due to its just had its mot )

polo sport alloys - soon to go because they look shit ! ( new alloys i need some ideas !!! ) bit of a crap picture but you get the idea !

sticker bombed passenger's pillar + petrol cap, just for shits and giggles :p you either love it or hate it YOU DECIDE IV MADE MY MIND UP =P !!!

8K HID kit however got send in the post and they dont work so sending them back !

JDM yellow fog lights

fusion components / no sub yet . - bottom door bits were covered in carpet but shit job so i took it off and sent off for some more carpet to re do them but now iv changed my mind and might get the whole door card flocked.

Vw were sprayed black - now there silver thinking about doing them white ..

front spiltter i think its a VR6 one ( front bumper is marked up but t cut started to bring out most of them , I'm looking for a 16V or another one to smooth )

Roof Bars + wind deflector for front . ( still in shipping :( )

Test fitted some 13x8" 0 offset wella's with stretched Tyres ( and yes i know rust its getting sorted !

so iv been working on little bits on the car so far.

New oil ,

oil filter

air filter

replacent gasket seal along with rover cover bolts

polished up the rocker cover a bit one of the bolt snapped in the camshaft housing so had to get that drilled out and re fitted.

coilovers down to the bottom ! ( not on the back )

Twin subwoofer

front components , tweeters

started sanding down some of the rust going to treat it and filler primer respray.

couple of things been sent off to be flocked

New wheels should be arriving within the next month or so there not to every's taste but i think they will look good.

cleaned bonnet as where i had a oil leak coming from the rocker cover the bonnet was yellow black colour so took it off and cleaned it :)

looks like a good project mate not feeling the wheels and that splitter needs centralising looks off center on the cut otherwise very nice

Cheers guys well i brought the spiltter like that so ill have a look at it sunday and YES rust for the win so going to smooth the front bumper should i get an 16v one or go for some thing different and smooth the 8v one ? & them wheels came with the car too there utterly shit ! ha but i have made my mind up but have to wait for xmas for them !! :(

everyoine does 16v :S i was actually going to put a 8v on m 16v to be different

but I'm not haha

They're hot but if you look in the used wheel section you'll find a set a lot cheaper than that.

So not much progress yet . hopefully going into the body shop soon to get things to a smooth start but have been thinking about a respray keep it white or go black ?? hes a cheeky little mod i done today couldn't help myself

Bonnet after a Fooking good clean up a lot of you must be thinking hes mad just to take the bonnet of to clean it but i had an oil leak and it was a dirty yellow color so i decided to wash it down wax , t cut and polish it just the little details i also cleaned the bay up a little too :)

( diddent bother cleaning the manifold cover as will be getting cat back with manifold soon :) )

Smoothed front yay or nay would need a mk5 gti spliter and 8v fogs ?

All I'm gonna say is lose the 'sticker bomb'

Also get a 6n2 gti splitter!!

And with the wheels. you could make them fit with good tyres and camber but there 13's which as to small for 6n's unless your gonna run them properly!

yeepp thats my plans mate gti spiltter getting rid of the sticker bomb soon and my wheels are comming at the end of the month :)

Smooth 16v bumper with a gti splitter ftw! 8v bumpers are too boring IMO, but everyone has their own opinions!
