Pink Pepper

Featured Replies

Hi everyone!

I really don't remember if I already had a topic on your forum, did a quick search but did'nt manage to find anything...

I proudly own a pink Polo, bought in France, near Paris, just over a year ago.

It's a "Peppermint". Here's a catalog giving some information on that model, just in case you were interrested... (and if you speak french of course  Oh, and BTW, if my english isn't so good, it's normal, I'm from Belgium and haven't practiced my english for over 10 years...)

Some pictures of the work that's been done on the car, not a full restauration, but still did spend a little time on the little girl!

After a little polish, she looked like this (I did at least 3 "polishs" after that picture... Finally bought some Meguiars, and it's just magic!)

Nice - Is the Polo Transfer yours as well?

Nice - Is the Polo Transfer yours as well?

Must be, and holy poop I do want one. I know where there is one in the UK too 8-)

^^How do you know? Because the ever so accurate howmanyareleft (or whatever) said so?

Is it pink, or just faded? And damn I want a servo!

I know someone who's seen it around. It's in Keswick, Cumbria.

Looks great!!! :)

Hey, thanks guys :D

Well it is pink

And what do you mean by servo?

Oh, and if I make any mistakes, please, correct me!

A brake servo, it makes breaking easier but Mk2s in the UK don't have them. (I think it's just mainland Europe that has them.)

looked pretty horrible at first but you have done a good job and turned it around nicely! i like it!

Oh yeah, we actually give it the same name in french :p

Plugged to the succion of the intake manifold, right?

Thanks for your compliments :D Did'nt really do anything difficult on the car, just spent alot of time, and still, I haven't done a complete restauration!

just needed a bit of love!

Exactly :D

I'm glad you guys enjoy my little "Gaymobile" as we call it here

I also have a Derby Mk1 who's been at the bodyshop for almost 2 years now... When (or should I say "if" ) she comes out, I'll present you the car :D

Awesome!! I hope you drape a delicious cardigan over your shoulders when you stand next to it like the guy in the advert.

Very nice. Got to love these european limited editions. Shame the uk didnt get framboise red until the MK3 polo, and we never got an interior quite as mad as that one. That carpet is awesome

  • Author

I'm actually a big fan of all those limited editions, in France, there's louds of them... Makes you crazy!

Forgot to answer you guys about the Transfer! It belongs to a friend... But wish I had one!

And yeah, the interior is kinda psychedelic :D I just changed the (how do you call the "board" that goes over the trunk?) so it could fit with my new interior, a GT interior.

nooooooo! :-( Why change something unique for something everyone else has? Please put the original seats back in (or post them to me :-D)

Edited by malaga red

Agreed, original seats FTW!

I love the carpet, it looks really soft and thick.

Also some pics of the Transfer would be cool, there isn't many decent ones online.

I, of course, kept the original interior! One of the reasons I removed it was to make sure I would'nt damage it, considering the Polo was my daily driver till I got my Jetta back... I'm seriously thinking of putting the original back in, but the interior I've got now ain't so bad! Look, the colors between the seats and the carpet match :D

great build! the gt seats work pretty well and you've kept all the original parts so dont see why anyones that worried. Its in a much better state than when you first got it, going by the early photos you've posted

We call it a parcel shelf :)

Thanks mate!

Not such a bad idea the Fire and Ice interior, you think it's exactly the same color? :doubt:

And I never EVER throw away original parts, even when they're broken

LOVED the old seats! They were awesome.

Nice car, looks a lot better than when you first started!

What ride height you running at the mo?

  • Author

Come on guys, if you keep on insisting, I'll really finish by putting the old seats back in :D

Concerning the ride height... I don't really know actually  Originally it's a -60mm kit, but the guy I bought it from cut a spiral off on the front springs... I'm actually exactly at the same height as a friend who's got -80mm kit... But with those eBay kits, you never really know what you get...
