I've got a 6n2 with 105k on the clock on which the OSF Wishbone rear bush is Donald Ducked. I've done the sensible thing and chose to replace the whole wishbone instead of the bush (along with the NSF wishbone too).

I just bought non genuine ones from Dingbro and they seemed to match up fine with the old wishbones (bar the air deflector which I'm not arsed about) in terms of look and size.

I fitted the OSF one first but once I took the car for a test drive the steering started rolling pretty much full lock to the right, turns out the camber was way way out. Thinking I had fitted it to the wrong side, I then replaced it with the other new wishbone I had bought but again the same thing happened once I test drove it.

After that I just put the old wishbone back on and the car drove just the same as it did before I started working on it, with no rolling at all.

Also I might aswell mention I replaced the anti roll bar drop link when attempting to replace the OSF wishbone.

I've had one experienced mechanic tell me that Dingbro must have sold me the wrong wishbone, and I've had another experienced mechanic tell me that its just the wheel alignment that needs adjusting as it would have last been done when the old (fucked) wishbone was on the car, can anyone shine any light on this? - does the tracking need adjusted when replacing wishbones?

can you measure from the centre of the bush mounting points to the end and see if there is a variation which would upset the camber?

are the holes for the 3 bolts where the bottom ball joint attaches slotted slightly?

compare the wishbones to see if there the same and if they are then get tracking set

Rule of thumb, I've always had the tracking redone after changing any major suspension components, sensible really, even if it doesn't look that far out, best to check

Most places will check tracking for free and only charge to adjust, so it's a case of why not?

Yeah you will need tracking re-doing after that. It should be done routinely IMO anyway

really and truely. any time a suspension component is tampered with the tracking is needed to be adjusted, just so much as hitting a pot hole or climbing a kurb, technically can mess up your tracking.. so best thing to do is compare the wishbones as stated above, and if different,get the right one. if its the same, then just get the tracking and camber adjusted and should be fine :)
