hey guys,

recently bought a neat clean polo gti on a W plate.

iv had no problems with it at all until now.

my alarm keeps going off by itself after i lock the vehicle!!!!

check all the doors and windows ........

only other thing is recently the boot light on the dash has been coming on and off but the boot is closed(so a obvious fault with the boot sensor)......

CAN SOMEONE PLEASE HELP ME ON THIS PROBLEM

i really dont want to take the car to VW I'm unemployed

if the boot light is coming on and off then that will set the alarm off when locked as it thinks someone has opened the boot.... Not sure on a 6n2 but i think the sensor is part of the lock mechanism (i may be wrong,someone correct me if i am) so best bet is scrappy

Whats there to bump? yove been told what should need fixing.

Its obvious if your boot sensor is giving intermittent signal it will set the alarm off as well thinking someone's broken in.

Go to a scrapyard, find the part you need and swap them out.

does that mean that my remote on key would have to be reset aswell?????

i don't own a 6n2 so unsure of the setup, remote locking shouldn't need recoding but if you also have a manual key entry on the boot lock you will need the key blade for that lock

alternatively, when you get out of the car press the lock button on the door to lock the doors without arming the alarm.

The boot sensor is part of the boot latch.

You can either buy a complete latch mechanism (2 Allen bolts and 2 clips inside the biot)

Or buy the sensor itself. However I'd buy te complete latch from a breakers as I always tend to break the mounting for the sensor when I remove it.

It is the same one as a 6n. Changing it WIL NOT EFFECT THE CODING ETC.

Also when lock the car from the remote (1 press) press the lock button again quickly. This should disable the alarm.
