SPI or single choke carb inlet manifold - mk2/mk3

Featured Replies

Alright guys, i need either a SPI inlet manifold from an AAU or AAV mk3 engine,

Or a single choke carb inlet manifold from a mk2 enigine,

If you could get me a pic of the inlet of the manifold that would be great.

Cheers.

I have two AAV items - one's in Manchester and the other Loughborough. You're welcome to either FOC

Free seriously?

Can you post though mate?

I've got one but I've adaptd it to fit a renault 5 carb so holes are slightly bigger now

I had one of these in the back of my car at gti! If your struggling, let me know. I have one from an mh t home

think I've just binned a pair of these, watch out through because the majority have really small inlet runners, not good if your using this with your r5 carb on your FI engine, i would try and get a GK mani atleast, infact I'm thinking of ditching the gk mani in favour of a gt one

Don't gk and gt manifolds have different stud patterns?

You can't use a gt inlet though will. Its runners are different lengths.

the carb mounting surfaces are different on the gk and gt mani's, I've already made a 2 adapter plates to fit a r5 carb onto a gk and spi inlet so doing another for the gt one will be no bother, apart from that the injector holes need blanking either with tapped plugs or welded up

i dont think i quite understand what you mean? i cant use a gt mani because the runners are different lengths? if so arent they more equal than any other carb specific inlet

btw if you decide to stick with a spi mani i have a adaptor plate you can have, up to you

Sorry, should have expanded on that. Using a 3F manifold isn't ideal because they are designed to have the fuel added at the end of the runners, adding fuel before the air enters the manifold gives problems in terms of uniform mixture to each cylinder, the distance to cylinder 1 & 4 is longer than to 2 & 3 from the inlet of the inlet manifold.
