Mk2 polo on bike carbs

Featured Replies

Seem to be losing oil , almost looks like its out the oil filler cap, but oil seems to be splattering around many places , I removed the dizzy and put it back over a week ago and maybe I didn't put it back exact so maybe that's out a little causing problems ? Or maybe not ? Was just wondering is there a way to maybe check where is exactly the problem area ? Might just be one of the seals somewhere , hay ho, any help appreciated :)

Did you put the cam baffle back on?

What areas does the oil appear?

An oil leak on the cam seal or above the alternator has a tendency to throw it around a bit if your not running a belt cover.

What did you do with the crankcase breather pipe? Sounds like a blocked breather, as any pressure in the crankcase pushes oil out the seals.

I have the plastic cover on yes , but I do think there is a tiny leak there anyways but not as bad as its appearing,

Is that the one that used to go into the air filter at the bottom of it ? If so put a filter onto it but maybe the pipes got blocked it is a tatty piece of pipe to be honest and needs replacing, seems to collapse alot as its knackered, It might be this though, as where the dip stick is it seems to be there too ;
