will 175/65's be okay on standard arches? 14x6j wheels

Will they clear the suspension as i had mk2 golf wheels with "golf" tyres on them and had a blow out before.

Not 100% of ofset but i think they are around 35-38

195 45's are your best bet or 175 50's

or 185/50's. 175/65 should be ok, depending on your lows, may get slight scrubbage on ridiculous-granny-full lock!

I'm running 185/50 on 14x6 et 36 or 38, fronts neede rolling, rears were already rolled but i reckon would clear them with rolling, down 80/60

175/50 or 165/55s would be a good option that deffo wont scrub. 185/55s and 175/65 both scrub on my g40 which is 60/40 dropped

i run 185/50's on both my cars

One on 6 x 14's with a et 38 and one 6 x 14's with a et 33

On the rear of my mk3, the et 33's rubbed slightly on the arch. Quick roll did the job.

175/50 or 195/45's i ran at different times on my old mk3, lowered about 70-80mm :)

Best get the hammer out tomorrow then i take it.

Won a set of astra BBS style alloy wheels with brand new tyres on ebay for pretty cheap.

I've cut the front coils down 180mm (2 1/2 coils) so we shall see how it goes!

165/60 IMO. Zero scrubbing issues, retains almost the same rolling radius so speedo/gearing remains good. Plenty of grip with the right tyre, doesn't look too bad either. Go 165/55 as g40jon suggests if you're worried about the 60's being too high a profile.
