looks nice, shame about the rear quarter, you getting it repaired?

  • Author

Cheers mate yeah the rear quarters getting repaired but its waiting as i need a new bumper and I'm trying to track down something a bit special. Thanks for your comment.

Chris

:-)

Was about to type Needs a Price and then realise I'm not in the For Sale Section  One of the most complete first build thread posts I've seen in a while

I'm liking the PS2 in the boot, was the Radio factory fitted or added?

  • Author

Cheers buddy no not for sale yet.

The radio was retrofitted by me its a VW MFD-D which can also be fitted in a 6n2 they were fitted to high end boras around 2002.

Its actually a pretty good sat nav as it uses the car speed sensor aswell as GPS so if you go into a tunnel it still works.

The PS2 was fitted as I'm often picking the missus up from her friends so i can sit in the car and piss about on it while i wait.

love the car mate , how easy was it to fit those seats ?

  • Author

Cheers buddy

The fronts were relatively easy to do. I used the front floor mount to go onto a bar i welded to the Audi runners then welded a thin bar at the back and bolted it to the top of the runners. Its uses the original mounts and the cars nice and thick so its all safe.

The rears were a bit harder the base just about sits in place so that's easy. The backs were stripped of their seat-belts, had the Audi mounts cut off and i then used some threaded bar to attach the lupo mounts to them. And to get them to clip in i shaped some metal adapters and then attached the lupo clips at the top.

I can take some more pictures if you like.

Love it ! TT seats look awesome :D

Went on a brief trip to Peterborough yesterday to pick these up:

Grey charcoal leather genuine vw doorcards.

So much nicer than the grey cards and match the seats pretty well.

When i fitted the new doorcards i noticed that the plastic door pins were pretty untidy so decided to upgrade to some chrome ones id been given by a mate a while back:

I wasnt sure what the effect on the engine would be given they are gti leads but all seems well so far.

So today i did a bit of work to the car. Replaced my old battery that died on monday with a new one from work :-(

But then got a delivery which cheered me up:

post-71344-1326233549.jpg

Which means that i can use my starlites as winter wheels:

IMG_1120.jpg

Also got these from a breakers yard my mate works at for a steal:

IMG_1121.jpg

Lupo gti inlet manifold and polo 16v afh cable throttle. My intention is to put these on the awh engine in the car and see what gains i get now i have more airflow. Also being an early lupo i have sport injectors already. I'm not bothered about BHP really i just want to see if it makes it a bit more pokey to drive.

Quick update on the loopy mobile

Decided to get the arch fixed and the majority of the bad bits resprayed and it now looks like this:

I'm actually happy with it for a change

:D

Smart project - I like a tidy Lupo and this ticks all the boxes!

I'd keep the Starlights though instead of switching to the Audi wheels.
