Iv just signed up, bought a white 6N2 last week!

I'm just wondering if it's possible to retrofit cruise control to a 1.4 16v (75) 6N2? I found an incredibly detailed tutorial for a lupo TDI, so I'm wondering if it's possible on a 6N2, I guess one of the most important things is, is the throttle fly-by-wire or cable?

The Polo and Lupo are virtually the same car so I don't see why it wouldn't work!

My second question, are they fly by wire or normal cable? Mines a w reg 1.; 16v 75bhp, iv searched And all I find is conflicting stories, and it's too cold to go check lol

Your car should be a fly by wire (no cable throttle) IF its a 16v which it should be i believe...

If it is, you can retrofit cruise control the same way as a golf mk4, lupo etc etc...you just have to have it enabled via vag com.

Yeah it's definetlly a 16v, I'll check for tonight when I'm home. I will have to find out the pins on the ecu though won't I?

AHW 16v Lupo is cable throttle.

I can grab the cable and pull it to open the flap.

If yours is cable throttle I'd look into this

If its cable- its an 8v....all 16v mk5 polo's were fly by wire. Check the pedal box- if you see a green cable come off the acellerator pedal sensor or even notice the lack of a cable on the throttle then its fly by wire...

As for the ECU pins...i'm not certain which pins they would be- if you can list the equivelent pins from the lupo i can double check this hopefully.

Here's the pins you requested

1. ECU 46 cruise on/off

2. ECU 45 Resume

3. ECU 44 Set

4. ECU 14 Enable cruise (& connect to ignition 12V for stalk)

I'm afraid your wrong matey. It's cable :( ignition off, could hear the butterfly opening and closing with the pedal, and couldn't see a green cable (but it's hard to look with the cowling in place), definitely a 16v, got the 16v engine cover, insurance says it is.
