If it's just a standard plate that came with the car I don't think you'll be able to sell it. I think you'd have call the dvla and buy it from them.

I'd call them before getting excited about selling it.

No, that's bollocks.

So long as on the front of your v5 it doesn't say "none-transferable registration".

Best think to do is click the sell button on a few plate broker's places (regtransfers, new-reg, etc). They'll come back to you with an idea of what you'll get. The thing is though, they are brokers, so won't buy it off you then and there, just advertise it for you and give you a percentage when it's sold.

Lol it's not bollocks then!

Well no, because if it does say that, you can't sell the reg at all, it stays with the car until either it is scrapped or exported, or until you put a different reg on, at which point the none-trans reg just ceases to be.

Trust me, I used to buy and sell private plates on the side, so have a fair idea how it works. I've also got a £1000-£2000 stuck on my car because it's a none-trans :x

Wounded

I have a little soft spot for private reg plates, I've got three but only one car! I've got S16 SCR (just because of the last three letters are my surname), SC51MMY (currently on loan to my dad) and BB5 2 LOW (currently for sale as I've sold my bbs wheels it went with).
