Insurance after sprayed.

Featured Replies

Before i joined the forum i seen someone's polo which had a robot on either side sprayed on which looked rather good.

The question I need answering is if someone was to do this for me would this raise my insurance quotes or would i not have to declare it ?

Cheers in advance.

I personally would, even told to declare any stickers i had to.

I'm 99.99999999% sure your insurers wouldn't pay out if you didn't declare a mod like that.

cant beleive some ask for stickers to be declared?

That's fucking ridiculous

Be declaring air fresheners and ice scrapers soon...

Okay thanks how much do you reckon it would cost if i did do it ?

it all comes down to your insurance company and personal preference, some companys arent bothered if you do custom paint work however if you were to have it insured then they would require recipts and possibly send someone out to value the car as its hard to decide what its worth when its done, some would say your de-valueing a vehicle as your taking it into a specialised buyer market and taking it away from its factory trim, others would argue that it would be unique and thus making it more valuable, the best thing to do is to talk to your insurance company before having it done because if you do have it done and dont declare then in the event of an insurance claim they might deem your policy void for not declairing moddifications, hope this helps

Then you'd get.. "did you report it to the police?"..

But prob worth a punt!

It depends though, one small sticker, I would agree with you.. a car covered in stickers I wouldn't agree. A car covered in stickers is more of a risk to insurers.. mainly increased theft or vandalism risk. It is also worth noting that a decent specialist insurer would not charge for declaration of stickers, just because something needs to be declared it doesn't mean it will be charged for.

what makes having stickers more of a risk?

If you use comparet he market it asks for stickers

on confused it doesnt

But tnh i declared suspension, and alloys and exhaust got a quote on confuised from "insure2drive", added stickers, paitwork and audio and the quote stayed the same which was pretty sick

The car stands out more to thieves and vandals therefore the stickered car is more likely to be claimed on.

With a modified car, generally speaking you are better off with specialist insurers rather than comparison sites.

I know but its hard to find specialists that will do me, I'm 21 but only just passed n they seem to frown upon me having a 1.3, even with my mum and dad on the policy i can only get it down to £2800 with just alloys and suspension :/
