Folks, can anyone tell me what DS i need to get. My 5 year old daughter wants one for Christmas - which I'm releaved about as up to now she has set her heart on a samsung galaxy S2 phone like mine :)

There seem to be several models of DS about and I have no idea which is which.

Can anyone give me their opinion on buying one of these?

3DS is the newest one (most expensive), sister has one and it pretty good to play on, playing stuff in 3d can become a bit annoying sometimes but it allows you to switch off/tone down the 3d.

Go retro and get her a Gameboy pocket.

As above I would suggest the DS Lite or the DSi XL, the 3DS is cool but I get the feeling it's just another Nintendo gimmick that will get boring really fast.

Apparently, the 3D on a 3DS can cause headaches so i'd stick with a DS Lite / DSi / DSi XL

3D is still relatively new so there are advances to be made yet.
