Back in June we sold the wifes Arosa to my little brother, as we needed something a little bigger, and diesel as I am using the car to get to work every so often.. the choise was made for a 9n3. We did look at 1.4 tdis, and then she wanted a Dune.. but the 1.4 just wasn't quite man enough for the motorways so the only choice was a 100bhp sport.

after looking at a fair number of "mint" cars that were actually dogs! I went all the way to Newcastle to get this beauty! it's only a 3 door, as we really wanted a 5 door, but the millage was right, full service history, and came with all the toys.. full auto climate, winter pack with heated seats, and cruise! so I said yes please!

First job was get some nice plates on there, and some better rims, as the tyres were on their way out so it seemed a good time to change any ways.

This was at the first show, Inters.. the black rims were chosen as they had good toyos and were a sensible price, but not the best colour on a dark car, however the wife said she wanted either some TT comps, or Dune alloys, so the black GTi style wheels stayed while I was looking for some more.

Then came the honecomb grill, inc the side pannels, the drives side pain stakingly cut out to allow the air flow to the inter cooler.

Next up was the lowering kit... which is still in the shed sadly!!

then it was new wheels time...first TT comps for the summer, theres still need a fresh polish... or maybe a colour change the wifes not sure yet... and then I got a set of Dune wheels for a sensilble price! so the black wheels are now off and going up for sale!

I will get it slammed over christmas, and then its a case of clean out the EGR and inlet manifold, decat and enjoy..ready for next show season..

I have also given her a bit of a meaty bark too, as there is now no silencers in the system..hehe

tidy looking car mate, cutting out the holes in the grill must have took ages

Once I got the hang ot it I was quite quick... best way was a very sharp craft knife, score along the edge of the bit I wanted break through and then cut along untill I reached the corner. The plastics quite rubbery so worked rather well provided the knife was jocking sharp.

I'm really please with, should look good when lowered and the wheels have ben done.

If I'm honest I have no idea what colour it is lol ill look in the hand book for the paint code. Its a brill colour and polishes up lovely. Ill try and get better picks this weekend once its washed as its white now lol

I fnally got round to snapping a few pics now the ride heights about set, and the cars actually clean at the same time I have my camera.

The summer wheels will either be starying polished, or poss going all white for the motorsport look, but not exactly sure yet as the wifes not made her mind up.

Just cleaned out all the inlet and egr this weekend, and next job will be a decat down pipe. (I am also thinking of seeing if a polo GTI miltek system will go on, but the wifes not that fussed and just wants her de cat,

its JOM coil overs, as some dont have high enough axel weights for the tdis, its not at its lowest but due to the low offset of the wheels they scub a smidge on big bumps on the front.

the rides OK, a big firm but you can easily live with it (the low profile tyres dont help)

If i can work out exactly whats catching and stop it, the wife wants her lower..so come the summer it may go down a little more (when I first did it I couldnt get off the drive lol)..also note when you drop more than about 30mm the drop links need to be shorter, you can buy expensive shorter ones on ebay for £50 - £60+! or just use Ford Escort ones as fitted from the early 90s on (mine are from a mk6/7 but they are the same from the mk5 on iirc, maybe even the mk4s..) and cost a massive £8 a side from euro car parts! :-D

I need to pull my finger out and get the summer wheels ready... had then about 4 months now and not even tried them on the car lol
